Aw man, I was really hoping to break Rico's record from a year ago! But I barely topped 2/3 of his views.

It's been a fun month, but I was really surprised that with all of those views, only 1 thread was written by someone else, and that just happened a few days ago. Any insight into why that was? Were people scared off by the number of my threads? Was the story hard to add to? Was it just boring?

It is hardly boring. You wouldn't have gotten all those views if it was. You've just been going on so well, I haven't felt the need to chop in and add something. I want to see where you're going.

Personally, I tried to read the story, but just couldn't get into it. There's a lot of telling instead of showing. The first several threads have no conversation, no direct action, just lots of talking about the characters instead of actual scenes.

And even when it gets going, there's still very little of it. On page 5 we finally get a scene where someone talks. The quarterback starts saying mean things to Marisa. But when it's time for her to respond we get, "Marisa’s furious, and she fires off a string of curses at him." I'd much rather read what she actually said. Different people curse in different ways, so this doesnt give me a sense of her personality. It's like I'm watching a movie and someone fast-forwarded over one character's part of the conversation.

That's a really good point, GB. The issue I was struggling with was how to introduce the reader to the characters before the real action starts in the apartment, without making the introduction so long it became the story itself.

I handled it differently with Jessica and with Marisa, the former by telling a brief annecdote and the latter by describing a lengthy scene with conversations. Pros and cons on both sides, I think--I'm not sure the story would be better if I made the Jessica miniskirt story into more of a scene, but I might try rewriting it just as an excercise to see how it turns out.

Oh, and I think the entire story after thread 5 or so is in scene form, with lots of conversation, (particularly from Ch. 2 on) so if you give it another try you might find you like it more than you think!

Here is what I don't understand. In Wishbone, why does Jake change Dave's mother if he says "I've been jonesing for your mom for years..."? It really doesn't make sense. It couldn't escape my mind. Sorry, I guess I just sort of ragged all over the storyline but apparently it doesn't matter because the story is 1st in views right now. I also checked out your story GoodBoy741, and I have to say I love the intro. If a professor did something like that in real life, I would probably laugh my ass off as he got carried away in a cruiser. You are applying logic to a sexual fantasy. That usually doesn't work.

I think the idea was that he became attracted to her when she was younger and that's the picture he had in his head of her. Once she took her clothes off and he saw the full 46 year old version, it didn't match what was in his head. That's why he made her younger. After all, he only changed her age by ten years, so it's not like he rewound her back to a teenager. And just because he's attracted to her physically doesn't mean he can't think of anything to improve, so he changes the breasts. Turning her stupid was something Jake did accidentally.


There have been a few women that I thought about, but my fantasy was really an idealised version of her.
