anyone else notice this little rebellion?

hopefully they will take care of their government assholes and end welfare

Oh, quite. Because what ordinary people love is having their benefits slashed and pay and conditions ruined so that a bunch of people with yachts can pay even less tax than they already are.

In case you'd forgotten, the French have a pretty good history of rebellions (1789, 1848, 1870, 1968...) and they tend not to be rebellions in favour of the rich and powerful. Quite the opposite, in fact. Your own great nation once rebelled in a similar radical fashion and inspired the world, showing that the world's 'natural' rulers couldn't have it all their own way for ever. Has that radical spirit entirely fled the shores of America? Is it really all Fox News, the Republicrats and Wall Street, for ever and ever, Amen?

Your like a broken record

you really need to turn off the MSNBC as its turned you into a mental defective. The 'Rich' pay the majority of taxes! People that are pro socialist are pro lazy and want to be spoon fed and not WORK or pay their fair share.

its just that simple

yet welfare population is exploding like cockroaches and obama is their queen

So instead of fighting for your 'cause' the correct way, you have a tampon day and piss and moan on an erotic literature site.

Your clearly a winner, yay fascism

Something - or someone - around here is certainly simple. I imagine that MSNBC is some sort of US programme, or network? I'm English, so I'm afraid your assumption is meaningless there.

Secondly, I assure you that I am far from being a mental defective.

Thirdly, the rich pay the majority of taxes because they have sequestered (sorry, a long word I know, but you can look it up) an increasing share of global wealth. A simple way to get the poor to pay a higher proportion of taxes would be to double or even treble minimum wage, whilst guaranteeing full employment. Their tax contributions would shoot up. But I'm guessing those remedies wouldn't fit with your neo-liberal worldview.

Fourthly, you are quite wrong about socialists. For one thing, as an American, I doubt you have met one - though there is that Senator from Vermont. Secondly, the real lazy people are those who play a little on the stock markets for a few hours and make more money than the average hard working person takes home all year. The rich, in other words.

I don't know a single person who doesn't want to work, if possible. I know plenty of people who have sent out thousands of CVs with no luck in the current bank-created crisis. And if you want to talk about the billions wasted on welfare - what about the trillions wasted on Iraq and Afghanistan, or on saving the banks?

Finally, everyone should indeed pay their fair share. Let's start with the $14 trillion (yes, that's TRILLION) locked away in tax havens across the world. If we taxed that at the lower end of the US tax rate, we'd be able to educate and feed every child in the world.

It's been charming making your acquaintance, young Jen, but I'm sure you won't be too upset if I don't press you for a second meeting? As it is, I'm going to have to get my suit dry-cleaned to lose all the spittle you kindly donated during your recent rants.

Barcelonia

I wouldn't want it known that it's a nice place to visit but I would want to live there... I have living "relatives" who want to know when it coming out.

All those revolutions were against the rulers, including in 1968. That was little more than a general strike, leading to national elections that strengthened the party then in power. A revolution now would be against the Socialists now in power.
