This one is running through my head and will not go away....

Nobody Told Me ~ Puddle of Mudd

Looking back in my childhood
wasn't to bad but it wasn't that great
I carried the luggage like a bag of bricks
feels like it's holding me down again
starring down a pitch black road
painted lines show me the direction
sun is burning on my face
sun is setting me on fire

Nobody told me where to go
Nobody told me where to run

I can't find my way back home
lost my head down there some where
could we just be gone alone
lived in doubt of fear i've shown
gazing down a long gray road
I see the stop sign way ahead
the sun is burning on my face
the sun is setting me on fire

Nobody told me where to go
Nobody told me where to run
Nobody told me where to go
Nobody told me where to run
Nobody told me, Nobody told me

Same old shit different day
gotta get up, gotta get up

Banditos by The Refreshments- this pretty much sums up my feelings at the moment. Anyone else have a good escape plotting song?

So just how far down do you want to go
Well we could talk it out over a cup of joe
And you could look deep into my eyes
Like I was a super-model
Uh-huh

Well, it's you and me baby no one else we can trust
We'll say nothin' to no one no how or we bust
And never crack a smile
Or flinch or cry for nobody
Uh-uh

Chorus:
Well give your ID card to the border guard
Yeah, your alias says you're Captain Jean-Luc Picard
Of the United Federation of Planets
'Cause he won't speak English anyway

Everybody knows
That the world is full of stupid people
So meet me at the mission at midnight
We'll divvy up there

Everybody knows
That the world is full of stupid people
Well I got the pistol so I get the Pesos
Yeah and that seems fair

So put the sugar in the tank of the sheriff's car
And slash the deputy's tires and they won't get very far
When they finally get the word
That there's been a hold-up uh-huh

Repeat chorus...

*huggles Earl* This is for you hon, I bolded the lines I meant :)

Seven Colours

Seven Colours curve across the sky
And I remember my first rainbow
Seems like a thousand years ago
I asked,
Momma what's a rainbow for?

She said after the rain
After the rain
After the rain comes the sun,
She said after the rain
After the rain
After the rain comes the sun.

Good choice on the Men At Work. Try listening to Colin James Hay (the lead singer) doing an acoustic version of Overkill. It's incredible.

Feel in a rocky mood and a bit bitter!

Till The Day I Die by

Garbage

I will love you till the day that I die
I will love you till the day that I die

You walked into the room
The sun hit my eyes
The force you struck me down caught me by surprise
You sprung the mojo and it worked like a charm
I felt invincible with you in my arms

I must confess it can feel good to feel pain
Like breaking waves or getting caught in the rain
Playing those games cause we had nothing to do
I was oblivious I was losing to you

I will love you till the day that I die
I will love you till the day that I die
I will love you till the day that I die
I will love you till the day that I die

Holy Jesus
Holy rock’n’roll
The more I gave to you the more you grew bored
And making love became the waging of war
No peace
No tenderness
No fun anymore

I will love you till the day that I die
I will love you till the day that I die
I will love you till the day that I die
I will love you till the day that I die

I dreamt that I called out your name
You turned your face to me and started to say
Something so beautiful it hurt deep inside
So I will love you till the day that I die

Farewell
Farewell
I'm sure gonna leave you (I will love you till the day that I die)
Farewell
Farewell
I'm sure gonna leave you (I will love you till the day that I die)
Farewell
Farewell (I will love you till the day that I die)
I'm sure gonna leave you (I will love you till the day that I die)
Farewell
Farewell (I will love you till the day that I die)
I'm sure gonna leave you (I will love you till the day that I die)
Farewell
Farewell (I will love you till the day that I die)
I'm sure gonna leave you (I will love you till the day that I die)
Farewell
Farewell (I will love you till the day that I die)
I'm sure gonna leave you

I LOVE GARBAGE!!!

:)

Okay, in keeping with the same tone...

My mother spent 10 years sitting by a window
Scared if she spoke she would die of a heart attack
She listened as her dreams silently screamed
They drowned like little dolphins caught in a fishnet

Dear world i'm pleased to meet you

Hey everybody when you walk the walk
You gotta back it all up you gotta talk the talk
Hey everybody when I hear the knock
Don't wanna measure out my life to the tick of a clock

Hey everybody when my daddy died
He had a sad sad story written in his eyes
Hey everybody when you walk the walk
You cannot measure out your life to the tick of a clock

I wanna walk to the beat of my own drum
I wanna walk to the beat of my own drum

Hey everybody
Can you walk the walk you gotta back it all up
But can you talk the talk
Hey everybody
can you walk the walk?

I wanna walk to the beat of my own drum
(Say what?)
I wanna walk to the beat of my own drum
(Say what?)

I wanna walk to the beat of my own drum
I wanna live to the beat of my own drum
I wanna take to the beat of my own drum
I wanna hang ten, high, say pleased to meet you

Give to the beat of my own drum
I wanna sing to the beat of my own drum

I wanna fly, cry, win, lose, live, die, take five
Pleased to meet you

My daddy spent 10 years living on the outside looking in
He thought that he would never get back
Watched his dream walk across a silver screen
And he was standing there when the theatre went pitch black

Dear world I'm pleased to meet you

Hey everybody when I walk the walk
I gotta back it all up I vgotta talk the talk
Hey everybody when I hear the knock
Don't wanna measure out my life to the tick of a clock

Hey everybody--can you walk the walk?

I wanna walk to the beat of my own drum
(Say what?)
I wanna walk to the beat of my own drum
(Say what?)

I wanna live to the beat of my own drum
I wanna laugh to the beat of my own drum
I wanna play to the beat of my own drum
I wanna hang ten, high, say pleased to meet you

I wanna screw up to the beat of my own drum
I wanna take it out of town and do it to my drum

Scream shout
Wipe out
Make love to my baby

Father: It's a wonderful idea, but it doesn't work.

My own drum my own beat

Hey did you ever get the feeling that it's really a joke
You think you've got it figured out and then you find that you don't
So you say goodbye to the world and now you're floating in space
You got no sense of nothing not even a time or a place
Then suddenly you hear it it's the beat of your heart
And for the first time in your life you know your life is about to start

I wanna walk to the beat of my own drum

Currently, anything my Eminem!

OK, it's solely because they're covering him on Kerrang TV here in Britland and I sat and watched for a bit this evening.

Lucky - I love Garbage too!! I could wax lyrical for hours about them...don'y worry I won't tho!!

Touch my body? ;)

Just Lose It

[Intro]
[Eminem making sounds]
Ok..
Guess who's back?
Back again
Shady's back
Tell a friend
Whaaaaaaaa

Now everyone report to the dance floor
To the dance floor, to the dance floor
Now everyone report to the dance floor
Alright Stop!.....Pajama time

[Verse 1]
Come here little kiddies, On my lap
Guess who's back with a brand new rap?
And I don't mean rap as in a new case of child investigation accusation
(HA-HA-HA-HA-HA)
No worries, papa's got a brand new bag of toys
What else could I possibly do to make noise?
I done touched on everything, but little boys
That's not a stab at Michael
That's just a metaphor, I'm just psycho
I go a little bit crazy sometimes
I get a little bit out of control with my rhymes
Good God, dip, do a little slide
Bend down, touch your toes and just glide
Up the center of the dance floor
Like TP for my bunghole
And it's cool if you let one go
Nobody's gonna know, who'd hear it?
Give a little "poot poot", it's OK! [Fart Sound]
Oops my cd just skipped
And everyone just heard you let one rip

[Chorus]
Now I'm gonna make you dance
It's your chance
Yeah boy shake that ass
Oops I mean girl girl girl girl
Girl you know you're my world
Alright now lose it
(HA-HA-HA-HA-HA)
Just lose it
(HA-HA-HA-HA-HA)
Go crazy
(HA-HA-HA-HA-HA)
Oh baby
(HA-HA)
Oh baby, baby
(HA-HA)

[Verse 2]
It's Friday and it's my day
Just to party all the way to sunday
Maybe til monday, I dunno what day
Everyday's just a holiday
Crusin' on the freeway
Feelin' kinda breezy
Got the top down, lettin' my hair blow
I dunno where I'm goin'
All I know is when I get there
Someone's gonna "touch my body"

Excuse me miss, I don't mean to sound like a jerk
But I'm feelin' just a little stressed out from work
Could you punch me in the stomach and pull my hair?
Spit on me, maybe gouge my eyes out? (Yeah)
Now, what's your name girl?
What's your sign?
[Dr Dre] "Man, you must be up out your mind"
DRE! (HA-HA)
Beer goggles blind!
I'm just tryna unwind now I'm

[Chorus]
Now I'm gonna make you dance
It's your chance
Yeah boy shake that ass
Oops I mean girl girl girl girl
Girl you know you're my world
Alright now lose it
(HA-HA-HA-HA-HA)
Just lose it
(HA-HA-HA-HA-HA)
Go crazy
(HA-HA-HA-HA-HA)
Oh baby
(HA-HA)
Oh baby, baby
(HA-HA)

[Verse 3]
It's Tuesday and I'm locked up
I'm in jail and I don't know what happend
They say I was running butt naked
Down the street screaming
(HA-HA-HA-HA-HA)
Well I'm sorry, I don't remember
All I know is this much
I'm not guilty
They said, "Save it, boy we gotcha you on tape
yellin' at an old lady 'touch my body!'"

Now this is the part where the rap breaks down
It gets real intense, no one makes a sound
Everything looks like it's 8 Mile now
The beat comes back and everybody lose themselves
Snap back to reality
Look it's B.Rabbit!
Yo you signed me up to battle!?
I'm a grown man!
Chubba chubba chubba chubba chubba chubbie
I don't have any lines to go right here so, chubba teletubbie!
Fella's (WHAT?!) Fella's (WHAT?!)
Grab you left nut, make right one jealous (what?)
Black girls
White girls
Skinny girls
Fat girls
Tall girls
Small girls
I'm callin' all girls
Everyone report to the dance floor
It's your chance for a little romance whore
Butt squeezin' it's the season
Just go (HA-HA-HA-HA)
It's so appeasin'

[Chorus]
Now I'm gonna make you dance
It's your chance
Yeah boy shake that ass
Oops I mean girl girl girl girl
Girl you know you're my world
Alright now lose it
(HA-HA-HA-HA-HA)
Just lose it
(HA-HA-HA-HA-HA)
Go crazy
(HA-HA-HA-HA-HA)
Oh baby
(HA-HA)
Oh baby, baby
(HA-HA)

[Outro]
UmMmMmm touch my body
UmMmMmm touch my body
Ooh boy just touch my body
I mean girl just touch my body

Papa Roach - Broken Home

broken home all alone
broken home all alone

i can't seem to fight these feelings
i'm caught in the middle of this
and my wounds are not healing
i'm stuck in between my parents
i wish i had someone to talk to
someone i could confide in
i just want to know the truth
i just want to know the truth
want to know the truth

broken home
all alone

i know my mother loves me
but does my father even care
if i'm sad or angry
you were never ever there
when i needed you
i hope you regret what you did
i think i know the truth
your father did the same to you
did the same to you

i'm crying day and night now
what is wrong with me
i cannot fight now
i feel like a weak link
crying day and night now
what is wrong with me
i cannot fight now
i feel like a weak link
push it back inside 4x
a weak link

broken home all alone

it feels bad to be alone
crying by yourself living in a broken home
how could i tell it
so all y'all could feel it
depression strikes hard just like my old earth would tell it
to me her son she told me i'm the one
pain bottled up 'bout to blow like a gun
stories that i tell
are nonfiction
and you can't take it back cuz it's already done

broken home broken hoooome

can't seem to fight these feelings
caught in the middle of this
my wounds are not healing
stuck in between my parents
broken home broken hoooome

This song absolutely cracks me up, lol.

"Hey Mister" ~ Custom

hey mister
i really like your daughter
i'd like to eat her like ice cream
maybe dip her in chocolate

hey mister
on your way to work
in your volvo suit and tie
we'll be crawling in your bed soon
messing around maybe
getting high

it's not what you did
it's not what you didn't
God gave her the perfect body
now i'm all up in it

it's not she's a tramp
it's not she's not pure
she just likes getting her fuck on
and it's a good one at
that i'm sure
na na na na na

hey mister
i really like your daughter
when i'm horny like thirsty
she's a bottle of water

hey mister
how'd it get so bad
you raised her so well
now she's calling me dad
in the back seat naked of her new
volkswagen
the perfect little gift for high
school graduation
na na na na na

i eat all the food in your fridge
call my friends
around the world rack up your
long distance
do breakstands neutral drops
wreck all your cars
drink all the booze in your
cheezy ass wet bar
order stuff on your credit cards
leave boogers in the skippy jar
smooke your cigars
answer your phone tell your boss
you moved to mars
when you call in late from work
tell your wife you're at the titty bars
na na na na na

i can't lie i have to tell the truth
man to man mister it's all
a total spoof
your daughter's a freak
your daughter's a pro
when i'm done with her she'll do
one of your bros.
i hope i never have a daughter
i hope i never have a daughter
na na na na na

Been (very legally of course) finding some of these songs and have discovered some new favourite tunes. Good calls everyone.

Good Call JL, anything by Papa Roach is good for me. My favourite is definitely "between insects and angels"

I think that's the correct title, haven't listened to it in ages and don't have the CD to hand.

Earl:

Love that sig, Julia stiles delivers that rhyme brilliantly. Makes the whole film worth watching again and again.

Stil in rocking mode heres one I used to sing backing vocals to -

FEEDER LYRICS

"Buck Rogers"

He's got a brand new car
Looks like a Jaguar
It's got leather seats
It's got a CD player (player, player, player...)

But I don't wanna talk about it anymore

I think we're gonna make it
I think we're gonna save it yeah
So don't you try and fake it
Anymore, anymore

We'll start over again
Grow ourselves new skin
Get a house in Devon
Drink cider from a lemon (lemon, lemon, lemon...)

But I don't wanna talk about it anymore

I think we're gonna make it
I think we're gonna save it yeah
So don't you try and fake it
Anymore, anymore

I think we're gonna make it
I think we're gonna save it yeah
So don't you try and fake it
Anymore, anymore

He's got a brand new car
He's got a brand new car

I think we're gonna make it
I think we're gonna save it yeah

I don't know if you guys get it over there, but Colin was on that show 'Scrubs' singing the acoustic version. I'd heard it before, but it was so cool to see him popping up and singing throughout the episode.

Here's one from Damien Rice. Swoon. :)

Don't hold yourself like that
You'll hurt your knees
I kissed your mouth and back
But that's all I need
Don't build your world around volcanoes melt you down

What I am to you is not real
What I am to you you do not need
What I am to you is not what you mean to me
You give me miles and miles of mountains
And I'll ask for the sea

Don't throw yourself like that
In front of me
I kissed your mouth your back
Is that all you need?
Don't drag my love around volcanoes melt me down

What I am to you is not real
What I am to you you do not need
What I am to you is not what you mean to me
You give me miles and miles of mountains
And I'll ask for what I give to you
Is just what I'm going through
This is nothing new
No no just another phase of finding what I really need
Is what makes me bleed
And like a new disease Lord, she's still too young to treat
Volcanoes melt me down
She's still too young
I kissed your mouth
You do not need me

That's where I first heard of Colin Hay. Loved that episode too.

On the CJH theme:

Waiting For My Real Life To Begin

And you say,"Just be here now.
Forget about the past,
Your mask is wearing thin."
Let me throw one more dice,
I know that I can win.
I'm waiting for my real life to begin.

Oh here, one of the best bitter empowering breakup songs ever:

I Should've Known by Aimee Mann

I should thank you almost
no one could kill it off until you bled it
but I got rid of that ghost
'though certain habits remain imbedded
with the shadow of a doubt
but baby it was you who fed it
and I don't know what else to say
but I think you get it.

I should've known
it was coming down to this
I should've known
you would betray me but without the kiss
I should've known
the kind of set-up it is.

And always isn't always
when it's not your photograph that I've been keeping
but you still live in those days
when I'd stay awake just to watch you sleeping
you delivered that blow
but it left a mark on me that you're not seeing
and I don't know what else you hear
but it's not me weeping

I should've known
it was coming down to this
I should've known
you would betray me but without the kiss
I should've known
the kind of set-up it is.

I should've seen the cracks in the ceiling
and the mirror covered up with dust
but I was busy talking on the phone
I should've seen the obstacles but I said,
this house was built for us
hello
is anybody home?

I should've known
the minute that we hit the wall
I should've known
the writing was upon the stall
I should've known
'cause Rome was starting to fall

and I should thank you, almost
