These women are full of crap.

No, she's incorrect there. What she meant to say was "Considering that every woman I know and have ever talked to has experienced some form of sexual assault or harassment at least once"
I'm glad you picked up on that

Oh Eeyore, look: time for another dick comment. Happy days :)

:D

Hey, I'm just having a blast reading a dude who wants to be a gal so much he also fantasizes he also has any cred at all from an actual women's point of view.

I became an expert with water and pipes by mastering Plumbing for Dummies...

...kudos to you for doing the same with Womanhood for Trannys.

Stick to copy and paste, gimmick. You obviously suck at comprehension.

You copied and pasted your own dumbfuckery. Good job, bot!

I totally agree, why wait 10, 20 even 30 years to make a complaint, and ruin a few innocent men?
Also why wait out three or four times the Statute of Limitations? (7 years in most jurisdictions)

Also, I find the preponderance of Democrat or liberal "offenders" and dearth of Republican or conservative "offenders" suspicious as well.

Consider that Franken's first accuser was a Faux TV and rightwing radio personality. Coincidence? Consider the attempted Moore accusation sting, part of a long-term effort to infiltrate Dums and media to spread Fake News. Consider what other disinfo has been cooked up, possible aided by Russian contributors.

Yes, powerful men abused women (and men, and girls, and boys). Yes, abusers must be shamed and rapists jailed. Congress has a slush fund for payoffs for silence from victims. Why hasn't its names been leaked yet?

Because most of congress is complicit and accepts sexual abuse as "going with the territory".

Our president still being in office is a prime example.

The men in Minnesota at least are saying "yes, it's true" and then they get fired.
I don't know about other places.

I can say, having worked with men all my life, that if all the men that have tried something on me in the workplace got fired, there would be very few men working in some of them.

Yes, I believe the women, because most of the women I know have been harassed or assaulted while doing their jobs.

My father taught me early on to fight back (and provided the skills and tools to do so), question authority, stand up to peer and other pressure and let me know that I can always leave a job and come home if I needed to. Not all women grow up in that kind of environment or have the choice to walk away or fight back.

Strangely, when I worked in the accounting, finance and computer industries, which were male dominated, I was not harassed. Men either treated me like one of the boys or were very careful to be sensitive. I even did fine in public works.

When I worked for a large entertainment chain, I had no problem within my company, but did with some of our vendors. I learned how to be persistent and unflappable on the phone while negotiating with radio personnel and was very careful when I went to the movie company offices. Someplace my company would not send their interns to even pick up stuff, even if they were in the same building.
It wasn't only women who were at risk either.

I learned early on that I was not interested in working for Fortune 500 companies, and later I found that large not for profits can be equally bad.
I have been fighting back since I was 11, so it is just normal to me.

I fight back for all people who have been harassed, groped or assaulted and those that can not fight back, that gives me a tremendous well of anger to draw on for strength.
I tried to leave the guy(s) thinking twice about whether to pull crap on any other woman.

It's not always guys either. Some of it is a power thing, but some I suspect stems from people thinking that it is okay to treat others in this manner, and/or not realizing that the power dynamics between them make it more than a mere request, joke or suggestion.

A local politician got sued by one of her staff for what I think she thought of as nothing, but was very disturbing to her aide. Most of the records, and articles on this have been "unpublished" or removed from easy access, but this one is still online.
The aide won.
These were people I saw socially, and knew to some extent.
Based on my knowledge, yes, she did all these things. Did she think it was wrong or have a long term sexual agenda in doing them, probably not.
Was she wrong in doing so? Hell yes!
Had she not been vendicitive after he quit, this lawsuit would have never happened.

I don't understand why everyone keeps rabbiting on about why these women didn't come forward at the time.
It seems perfectly clear to me - they were afraid. Afraid of not being believed, afraid of having their career derailed by the perpetrator, afraid of being seen as somehow 'responsible' for their victimhood....
Hell, just look at how many comments here are slanted toward blaming the victim for her assault!

I honestly thought we had moved on from speculating about how a womans actions/clothing/attitude invited her harassment!
Obviously not.

Repeated studies have shown that the numbers of false accusations made regarding sexual misconduct are in the low single figures - well under 10%.

Some educational material....

Nothing will change as long as 1 gender dominates society. It's human nature to exploit power or position for personal gain. There will always be a sleaze bag like Weinstein out there and women who will fall prey to him. IMO it's part of the hunter gatherer instinct, which is ingrained stronger in some men than others.

I haven't thought about that, but indeed those kids will quite likely be bullied and shunned socially at school.

From that point of view I condemn the women who went to tabloids with minor accusations of impropriety ("he pat me on my ass twice"). They should have gone strictly through the official channels.

But as to more serious accusations?
It's hard to tell which is the best way to do it. Rape is notoriously underreported and how could society embolden women and change those statistics other than that?

People should be more considerate.

There is a “piling on” going on without consideration of the law or anything other than selfishness.

“Fear”? Everyone feels fear and shame and anxiety about getting into police and court matters.

But that is no excuse. Limitation periods are generous and should apply.

Cowards who wait 20 years about a pat on the ass should be told to get lost. Money grubbing is all it is, yes!

I totally agree part of the problem my be the way females dress now a days

I truly do not see why these women are making such a fuss they chose to keep quiet all these years, if the experience is truly traumatic you take immediate action.

That's the best idea. We can't say yay or nay while there are cases going on.
I'm aware of the law, it's heavy stuff.

Many women did report their assault, and the result of them doing so was either nothing got done, they lost their job or were sidelined, or were told to suck it up, or they were not believed at all.
You can be quite sure that lots of these women told their women friends - who all learned that reporting their harassment would at best make no difference, or at worst result in them losing out in a big way.

Women learned to shut their mouths and carry on, because that was the option they had.
Nowadays, we have moved on and no longer tolerate that kind of behaviour.

I find it surprising that a lot of comments about this issue have been along the lines of 'these women are after a payout.....it's all about the money' because to date, I haven't heard of a single victim seeking financial compensation!

Atleast not wait forty plus years in Roy Moore's accusers case. You cant expect people to swallow that or atleast look at you with a stink eye.

I believe any actress who makes an accusation, especially if they are young because the casting couch has been a Hollywood institution since forever. You have to love the irony, the left has been pointing fingers at the right , yet its some of the biggest progressive champions that have been caught doing the dirty deeds to women.

Roy Moore is a long line of hypocritical right wingers... We have "wide-stance" Larry Craig, whog supported the Federal Marriage Amendment, which barred extension of rights to same-sex couples; he then got caught trying to solicit a male for prostitution in an airport bathroom.

Do you remember that one? I do.

Then there's Ted Haggard, the anti-gay crusader who tried to hire a male for prostitution and tried to pay him with meth.

Another stand up right winger.

Then there's the classy guy Mark Foley, who asked a 16 year old boy (a washington intern) to measure his penis via text message.

This is the same Mark Foley who:
was one of the foremost opponents of child pornography. Foley had served as chairman of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children. He introduced a bill, coined the "Child Modeling Exploitation Prevention Act of 2002" to outlaw web sites featuring sexually suggestive images of preteen children, saying that "these websites are nothing more than a fix for pedophiles."

John Bohner and other republicans tried to come to his rescue, but it was too late. Foley had already choked the chicken.

So no, this is hardly a problem with democrats alone.

The worst part about the right wing, is their hypocrisy.

No abortions, except for my mistress. Fuck the fags, except for the ones I want to blow. Let's protect the children, so that we can molest them.

These are the republican ways.

No the hypocrisy is preaching to the right , while the left goes on a serial abusing spree over decades. Casting Couch, you have heard of that have you? Hollywood is not owned and run by the Right .

The media is not owned and run by the Right. Stay tuned, more scandal to follow.:)

Wrong.

The left is not railing against gay people, and then going out and paying for gay prostitutes... that's what the folks on the right are doing, and I've linked you to some examples.

How do we not know?

I tend to agree with you. What makes us believe these women? The fact that they are women and women never lie? Why do we take such devastating action against the ACCUSED? I know this is only social "justice", but it feels un-fair and un-American. A woman should not be able to anonymously ruin a person's life.

How do we not know these were not consenting relationships between two adults at the time?

Ladies have been known to want there pound of flesh of "There Man"when there man moved on to another lady.

So many unanswered questions?

If a woman is going to make accusations she should not have the right to remain anonymous.
