Finding your music inside ..what best describes who and what you are feeling
at a given moment in time...I have found music is the way to describe what we are inner most feeling...give it a shot..in the moment ever changing...high and low...
me at this moment in time..what song do you hum...

this is a funny thread... or at least i'm interpreting it that way.

unfortunately i mostly have cartoon theme songs running loose most of the time. --dang kids ; )

current fav, Fairly Odd Parents, 'Jimmy was an average boy, no one understands, Mom and Dad and Vickie always giving him commands..."
uugh. quite catchy in a lingering illness sort of way.

if not that, it is either the Darth Vader theme or some other Star Wars person's individual theme song.

perhaps that is the underlying inspiration for the Jan. Challenge? : )

when something 'useful' happens upon me i will post it here.

RainMan? You'll be crazy all day w/ that in your head! How do you keep your feet still??? lol I DO like it, but I'm glad it isn't in my head.

There is one that won't stray from my head. Pops in and out all the time. Lets see if I can find it...

I can't find it, but it's the Theme song from Zorro. Theres a few bars that are stuck in my head most of the time.

Ooh Child/The Stairsteps

I sing this to myself when I'm having a hard/stressful time, like right now. I'm changing jobs, within the same organization, but I can't tell my boss yet because I have to wait for the process. I know I've got the job, but it's not public yet. Ugh. Of course, since she's the reason I'm leaving, I can wait until the time comes to tell her.

Anyone remember this? I heard it today, and it's in my head and welcome to stay there as long as it likes. (These are the songs I like to teach my Boys!)

(chorus:)
Lay down lay down, let it all down
Let your white birds smile up at the
Ones who stand and frown
Lay down lay down, let it all down
Let your white birds smile up at the
Ones who stand and frown

We were so close, there was no room
We bled inside each others wounds
We all had caught the same disease
And we all sang the songs of peace

chorus

So raise the candles high cause if you
Don't we could stay black against the night
Oh raise them higher again and if you
Do we could stay dry against the rain

chorus

We were so close, there was no room
We bled inside each others wounds
We all had caught the same disease
And we all sang the songs of peace
Some came to sing, some came to pray
Some came to keep the dark away

So raise the candles high
Cause if you don't we could stay
Black against the sky
Oh oh raise them higher again
And if you do we could stay dry against the rain

chorus

Ack!!! I don't believe I found it! I am now a confirmed Youtube freak!!

Indigo Girls/Watershed

I can't find it on YouTube (those capricious gods are not smiling down on me today), but here are the lyrics:

Thought I knew my mind
Like the back of my hand
The gold and the rainbow
But nothing panned out as I planned
And they say only milk and honeys
Gonna make your soul satisfied
Well I better learn how to swim
Cause the crossing is chilly and wide

Twisted guardrails on the highway
Broken glass on the cement
A ghost of someones tragedy
How recklessly my time has been spent
They say that its never too late
But you don't, you don't get any younger
Well I better learn how to starve the emptiness
And feed the hunger

Up on the watershed
Standing at the fork in the road
You can stand there and agonize
Till your agony's your heaviest load
You'll never fly as the crow flies
Get used to a country mile
When you're learning to face
The path at your pace
Every choice is worth your while

And theres always retrospect
(when you're looking back)
To light a clearer path
Every five years or so I look back on my life
And I have a good laugh
You start at the top
Go full circle round
Catch a breeze
Take a spill
But ending up where I started again
Makes me wanna stand still

Up on the watershed
Standing at the fork in the road
You can stand there and agonize
Till your agony's your heaviest load
You'll never fly as the crow flies
Get used to a country mile
When you're learning to face
The path at your pace
Every choice is worth your while

Stepping on a crack
Breaking up and looking back
'Til every tree limb overhead just seems to sit and wait
'Til every step you take becomes a twist of fate

Up on the watershed
Standing at the fork in the road
You can stand there and agonize
Till your agony's your heaviest load
You'll never fly as the crow flies
Get used to a country mile
When you're learning to face
The path at your pace
Every choice is worth your while

Up on the watershed
Standing at the fork in the road
You can stand there and agonize
Till your agony's your heaviest load
You'll never fly as the crow flies
