Hey pal,
I see you reading poetry books
are you planing to be a poet?

I bet you are writing tons of mediocre poems
torturing your friends by reading your poems to them.

Let me tell you something
you will never be a good poet
by reading poetry books.

O really?
it sounds you know the trade secrets
please give me some tips
to write great poems
so I won't waste my time
to become a great poet.

Poets invited to share tips for writing good poems.

Hey pal,
I like reading poetry books,
I'm planed by them.

You just lost your bet
by pretending to know what I do with my friends.

Let me tell you something
you will never be a good poet
full stop.

Yes really!
It sounds you ignore the trade secrets
I don’t give tips
to write great poems
so don’t waste your time
asking me.

Poets discouraged to share tips.

Planing to be a Poet

Dangling my participles
In naked streaks through cloud
Letting my prepositions all hang out
Dropping an F-Bomb on a Japanese crowd
Fuk Yu! I shout aloud

On Planing and Other Woodworking Secrets

Keep your blade sharp
and flat on the wood.
Draw the tool steadily
toward you and pull
strongly through knots
and bolls to expose
beauty in the grain
of the wood you shape
into something marvelous.

Love this, and with permission will send it to my canoe paddle making instructor.
But then I am a literal sort.

Still getting my mind around 90 degrees anticlockwise.

Avoiding life, my advice would go something like this

read
write
read
edit (throw 2nd above into trash)
repeat

Get your head out of the clouds, there boy!
pick up a shovel
and go grow some muscle
why be a whitman
instead of a hitman?
learn to dance
or maybe sing
play the piano
or something with strings
take the book from neath your arm
balance it on your head, then
learn you some charm!
follow the money
whatever the scheme
play the lotto
live the big dream
twirling the words?
I know it sounds fun
don't be a fool, son
what about the long run?
