All right, how to begin...

On July 7th, 2017 I had another heart attack. Unlike the first, this was a dozy. The first was a blockage of a single artery. This on was blockages on 5. The night of the 7th, I spent in the hospital and on the morning of the 8th, they operated on me. It was a 5 bypass operation. I was in CCIU for the next week. Just his past Thursday, I was transferred out to an resident rehabilitation unit. I have been going through a rigorous physical therapy and occupational therapy. It looks like they will be releasing me this Thursday. to return home.

Most everything has been paid by for Insurance...no, not Obamacare, that shit sucked and I would be dead. But there will be some expenses which I will have to pay for out of my meager Social Security payments.

I don't know if I should start a gofundme page as I don't yet know what the finally amounts will be.

Just thought you should all know.

Thank you in advance for any and all best wishes.

Zeb.

I know people who used gofundme and had positive results. They didn't know the final totals either so they estimated an amount and went from there.

Best wishes with your recovery. :rose:

OH DEAR!!!

The important thing is that you were and are being taken care of. Take things very nice and slow and remind yourself to not make sudden movements... that can hurt.

I agree with _Lynn_. No harm, no foul in setting one up.

Of course you'll let us know when and if you do.

Play nice with your nurses. :)

And a kiss to get well on.

Let us know where to fund you.

The best to you.

My best thoughts for a good recovery.

...and do let us know where and when we can help...

Sorry to hear that, I had one early June and feel fine now but of course even with our faultering system in the UK it hasn't cost me a penny. Got a stent, in hospital for 4 days. Good luck.

Thanks you all. I will post a link to the page here when I have set it up.

I am feeling better each day...so much wrong with me right now, but all treatable and I'm not ready to give up yet.

I'll be around... :rose::kiss::heart:

Best of good health to you Zeb - your attitude is the best medicine of all.

Seven years ago I was told I had six months to live unless I did a whole bunch of things immediately - it was fatal but completely treatable. Well, here we are seven years later.

Fight the fight my dear friend. It's worth it.
Definitely let us know when your page go up. You are not alone.

Denny & Dollie

Best of luck on a full recovery. This is only the beginning.

Even a weak heart can be strong.:rose:

Been there, done that.

Hellooooo....

I'm home. If feels good to be home. The discharged me today. They say I'm well enough to take care of myself. Funny, it doesn't feel like I am, but I'm glad to be here. My own comfortable bed. God those beds in hospitals are the rehab center were the worst for getting any sleep.

Just thought I'd let everyone know.

Still working on the gofundme page...it's real tough asking for help when you have been self-sufficient all your life...I'll get it done.

Zeb.

More power to your elbow, Zeb.
Getting home from the Hospital can be a very disorientating experience [been there, done that].
Wishing you a speedy return to normality.

Glad you're doing well enough to be home. Familiar surroundings (and a comfortable bed) can do wonders. :rose:

I see you haven't posted in a few days. Hope you're doing well. Do you have someone with you?

Here's a tale of heart attacks and writing for you: My late husband had a heart attack in 2012. When he woke up in the CCU, he was disoriented and didn't know where he was. He looked out through the glass doors and didn't see anyone and his mind started concocting this idea that he was the lone survivor of a zombie apocalypse. A few hours later when I got there to visit him, he was sitting at a table in his room, scribbling on paper the nurse had scrounged up for him - he told me he was writing a play about zombies. He was so thrilled and excited that this idea had come to him. He was a crazy, silly man and I miss the hell out of him. He passed last December :-(

Zeb, I had my 5 graft CABG back in 1998. It was quite a long recovery time. I did cardiac rehab afterwards which helped in recovery.

And stents implanted in 2004/2006. I take several medications (Plavix generic, blood pressure, and others) which have kept me going since. Best medication I take is called Ranexa -- it completely suppresses angina which I had experienced a few years ago -- a bit expensive, but worth it.

I did not have an actual heart attack, it was caught before it came to that.

My point in writing is that almost 20 years later I am still healthy and ticking. And my libido has never been stronger.

I hope your recovery is complete and you enjoy a long and prosperous life!

I have been to cardiac rehab I started in Phase 2 for four weeks, now I'm in Phase 3 where I can go any time I want. I go Mon., Tue., Thru., and Fri. I spend an hour total there using several of the many cardio exercise machines there. It's really like a gym in Phase 3, except you have nurses in attendance and there's an ER just steps away from it. And it only costs $33 a month.

So...I got a notice from my insurance about what it cost to fix me, what they are paying and what I have to pay.

Hospital and Doctors and Specialists .............. $344,000

What Insurance company is paying. ............... $38,000

My share ...................................................... $1,250 :D

And no, I don't have ObamaCare.

Of course there were a lot of things the insurance just refused to pay, like any line item on the bill that had a date before I was even in the hospital.

But my plan state that all I pay is $250 a day for five days if I'm admitted to the hospital.

There will be more as this was just the July part of the billable items. There are a bunch from August.
