Lois Connors -- Guard Captain
  • Physical Description:
    • Age 44
    • 5'8", 150 pounds; strong, fit.
    • Not overly pretty; not overly ugly; just average.
    • Non-breeder (implanted)
  • Psychological Description:
    • Confident, serious; doesn't take shit from anyone.
    • Dedicated to the mission and, therefore, loyal to its leader.
    • Bisexual but not open about it; sex is a private matter to her.
  • Important Resettlement history:
    • She was formerly a high ranking Lieutenant in the Ark Guard.
    • She was not popular on the Ark amongst the prisoners, obviously, what with being an authority figure, one part cop, one part jailor.
    • Her daughter, Brenda, is a Resettler.

The 13 Original Space Stations

Stations that became part of the Ark (and date of first module):
  • The International Space Station
  • ARK-2
  • ARK-3
  • ARK-4
  • ARK-5
  • ARK-6
  • ARK-7
  • ARK-8
  • ARK-9
  • ARK-10
  • These are just place names until our IC replies determine the story behind the stations.

Stations that did not join the ark:
  • STDNJTA-1:
    • There was simply no way to help the entire crew.
    • Only the last 2 crew members survived after jettisoning themselves through space toward another station.
    • Portions of the station and its contents were later salvaged.
    • There has been a lasting conflict over whether or not these two survivors deserved an entire or significant share of what was salvaged from their station.
  • STDNJTA-2:
    • It began maneuvers to approach the ark 2 months after WWIII.
    • When close enough, most of the crew used a reentry module to emigrate to the Ark. The rest of the crew remained behind to keep the station active until its opportunity to merge.
    • This was all a ploy, though, by crew members who wanted revenge against the country that had nuked it.
    • As the station of that latter country neared the Ark for merging, an improvised explosion device -- made of a pressurized gas tank (for propulsion) and a pressurized liquid gas tank (for explosive) -- was launched at the enemy station.
    • The missile did little damage physical damage but caused decompressions on both the attacked station and the Ark.
    • The Ark Council authorized an immediate retaliatory stroke with a much more impressive IED.
    • The offensive station was destroyed, yet 2 crew survived.
    • The survivors claimed they were not part of the attack and were rescued and integrated into the Ark's population.
    • The small portion of the station that survived and remained in an accessible orbit was salvaged by the Ark.
    • There were simmering tensions and fatal attacks over the years between the members of and descendants of 4 groups involved: the original emigrants; the rescues aggressors; members and descendants of the group that had been attacked; and other Ark citizens who had nothing to do with the incident and yet still got caught up in the hassles.
    • Multiple members of all 4 groups were executed for various crimes.
  • STDNJTA-3
    • This station was deemed unnecessary by the Ark Council.
    • Its crew was integrated into the Ark population, as was a good deal of the station's resources.
    • As with the 1st non-Ark station, there were tensions over the years about the pillaged resources. The original crew felt they'd been robbed of their home and its valuable resources, which had been added to the Ark's general inventory.
