OOC: "The Augments"

Understanding the story

This is and at the same time is not a story from the universe of "Star Trek: Enterprise" (STE):
  • We use STE terminology, technology, species, ships, etc.
  • Sometimes, however, our versions of them are different than the original STE version.
  • Where I remember to do so, I note these differences in the OOC. Please check it out at this link.
  • The role play begins with an alternative version of STE's Season 4.
  • Namely, the leader of the Augments is a woman, not a man. (There are other alt' differences. Again, see the OOC.)
  • From that point out, the role play is a new beast.
  • Fans of Khan Noonien Singh from the original series of "Star Trek" (TOS) will remember that he, too, was an Augment, though, I don't think the word "augment" was actually introduced until STE.
[*]TOS was a 1960s television series, as you know; Khan's reign on Earth was in TOS's future, the mid-1990s, which of course is our past. And unless I took a very long nap and missed out on all of my history classes in high school and college, Khan didn't rule over all of Asia during my past. So, for the purposes of our role play, Khan's reign occurred during the mid-2030s.
[*]Our role play centers around two peoples:
    • The Family of Augments who -- like in STE -- steal a Klingon Bird of Prey and head off on a mission.
    • A major alternative from STE's storyline is that the leader of that Family is a female.
    • Another alternative is that the Father of those Augments, Arik Soong, is on the loose from Starfleet detention.
    • In STE, he was imprisoned when we first met him. He'd escaped prior to this and been caught again; he would escape yet a second time and be caught yet a third time during an episode of STE, so really, our alt' version is just a matter of timing.
[*]And the characters who get caught up in the Augments' mission:
    • These include some canon characters with original or altered lives.
    • And new characters you've never heard of before.
[*]I am also a fan of the television series "Firefly", its story concluding movie "Serenity", and the pirate series "Black Sails". So, there will be a bit of piracy and other high jinx involved that aren't really "Star" trek in nature … or maybe might be, who know.
[*]Oh, and there will be sex, even though this isn't in the Sexual Role Play forum. :D

Timeline of our story

Please, keep in mind:

  • Our story includes elements of "Star Trek: Enterprise" (STE) and the original series of "Star Trek" (TOS).
  • STE ran from 2001-2005; TOS ran from 1966-1969.
  • Because TOS's future included what to us is the past -- everything from 1966 to 2019 -- they spoke of things that had happened in their past which didn't in ours.
  • This is a paradox that is easily fixed.
  • Essentially, much of what they talked about having happened between 1966-2019 -- specifically the late 20th century events surrounding Khan Noonien Singh and the World War III events that followed -- we simply move forward to the time period 2019 and beyond.
  • You'll figure it out as you read along. I believe in you. :D

Name: Hora
Age: 25
Species/Race: Orion
Rank*: Scientist
Appearance: Beautiful green skinned Orion female.
Height: 5’6”
Hair color: Dark Chestnut
Eye color: Blue
Figure: She is a knockout... even among Orion females!
Personality:
Hora is a real character; she wants nothing more than to enjoy life. She is a naturally playful and happy person, and not much gets her down for long. Her world is a fun place—she is not naive, but rather chooses to see the humorous in things. She's very easygoing about things and comes across as genuinely warm, charming, and friendly, which happens often since she deeply enjoys personal interaction (which she does with a lot of laughing, flirting, physical touching, and eye contact).

As much as she likes to talk and laugh with others, she is actually very closed about her internal world and background, and she always finds a slippery way to change that subject. Cultural norms don't play an important role for her, except that she enjoys breaking them—not because she enjoys chaos, but simply because she thinks most rules are uselessly restrictive. This is one reason why she frequently engages in pranks and practical jokes, to shake things up and "punish" people who are too serious.

She is a very erotic creature, largely because she finds flirting and sex to be fun. She can be brazen in her sexual expression, although she knows when to turn it off.

Character Bio/History: Lava was a sex slave for a trader named Fnador. At the age of 20 she rebelled and killed Fnador. Fnador was a highly regarded and high-ranking noble of the Kolarik house. She was a marked woman by the Kolariks. So she changed her name (Hora) and worked with the federation.

Specific Skills or Areas of Specialization: Bio-engineering

Additional Information:
The Orion are a species of humanoids with green to blue skin. Female Orions are masters of seduction, which, in combination with their potent pheromones, are used to their full advantage. While in Orion society, the males were slaves to the women, other species captured the females and turned them into sex slaves.

The female pheromones affect the metabolism and adrenaline production of males in most species, which could turn them delirious with lust. This affect can be “turned on or off” by the female. Another affect of the pheromones' is to make males susceptible to suggestions, essentially turning the female Orion 'slave' into the master, as their owner will do anything they suggested.

Hora does not use her female pheromones unless it is a life or death situation.

The Augments:

  • Merrick

Ships, Stations, Planetary Bodies, and more.

Ships: (in order of mentioning in the roleplay)
  • Gwyneth's Star
    • Warp 3 cargo transport; contracted by Starfleet to haul (mostly) dilithium.
    • Hijacked by the Augments, April 2154, 24 days prior to the RP's start.
    • Left adrift with the dead crew of the Klingon Bird of Prey, Bok Trigosh.
  • Bok Trigosh
    • Klingon Bird of Prey
    • Warp 5+; 8 disruptor cannons; 2 photon torpedo launchers (1 forward and 1 aft); Dispersive armor (bridge), deflector shields. (For more, see Star Trek Fandom.)
    • Hijacked by the Augments, May 2154, the day the roleplay begins.
    • Its Klingon crew is brutally murdered and left aboard the Gwyneth's Star, with the intention of being found by Starfleet.
    • Its weapons and defenses were improved by the Augments: power from the disruptors is increased 48%; photon torpedoes are equipped with a sort of stealth capability which allows them to unimpededly penetrate shields that have already been reduced to 75% or less; effectiveness of the dispersive armor and deflector shields is increased 30% and 36% respectively.

Kara (Soong) -- Augment Alpha (Leader)

Note: The dates and info below are based upon a roleplay start date of May 2154.

Physical Description:
  • Image
  • Age: Actual=20; appearance~30. (See "Life Cycle" below.)
  • 5'8", 36C-26-36.
  • She is very fit, very strong; breasts are practically gravity defying.
  • Brunette hair with a hint of red; worn several inches past her shoulders.
  • Deep brown eyes.

Life Cycle:
  • Augments do not age in what would be termed a normal manner.
  • She initially aged and grew at an accelerated rate.
  • 4 years after her birth, Kara had the appearance, personality, and intelligence of an 8 year old girl.
  • Her growth process then began to gradually slow, as designed.
  • She did not suffer through puberty in the same way a normal Human female would. She developed the physique of a Human woman but did not experience a menstruation cycle or any other female reproductive related activity save for a natural human lust for sexual satisfaction.
  • She was/is, of course, infertile.
  • By now, at the true age of 20 but looking 5-10 years older, she is aging slower than a normal human by 25-50%.
  • It is quite possible -- barring any tragic trauma, such as a dagger to the heart -- that Kara could easily life to the ripe old age of 150.

Psychological Description:
  • Confident, dominating, demanding; a true leader.
  • Sexually insatiable; she'd fuck all day long if there weren't more important things to be done.
  • Dedicated and loyal to her father, Arik Soong (explained further below and in his own profile, coming soon).
  • Dedicated and loyal to her siblings, though, they come second to her father. (They are also explained further below and in their own profiles, coming soon.)
  • Psychopathic in her quests, whatever they be. She has no problem killing her way to power.
  • Omni-sexual … meaning she will do anyone, so long as she enjoys pleasure or gains power from the interaction!

History:
  • She is a product of genetic engineering, as are all of her siblings.
  • Termed an Augment for her augmented (enhanced, altered, reengineered) DNA, she is stronger, faster, more agile, more durable, and more intelligent than even an above average human.
  • She was birthed in a lab in 2134, the offspring of renegade and criminal Geneticist, Arik Soong. For more on this, see Arik's profile (coming soon).
  • From their births in 2134 to his capture by Federation Authorities in 2144, the Augments were raised by their father, Arik Soong on the isolated planet of Trialas IV.
  • After Arik's capture, Kara would work closely with her brother, Petra, to continue the family's life and training.
  • The two of them -- by this time lovers -- would essentially become the Alphas of the family. They were both very well respected, and their siblings swore their loyalty and their lives to the both of them.
  • In 2150, at the true age of 16 but appearing and acting more like people in their mid-20s, the Augments left Trialas IV to begin their quest to free their father from a Starfleet Prison.
  • They would spend 4 years gathering information, making contacts, and collecting resources.
  • As this was happening, Petra was becoming very envious of the obviously additional loyalty, love, and support the siblings had for Kara. He began to make decisions and performs acts directed more to enforcing his rule than in freeing their father.
  • In April 2154, after learning that Arik Soong had escaped Starfleet custody and was loose in territory controlled by the Orion Syndicate, Petra was practically forced into capturing and hijacking the Starfleet cargo vessel, Gwyneth's Star, which Kara felt would be the first step toward reaching their father.
  • With the approval of the other siblings, Kara dispensed with Petra by putting a dagger into his neck while they were making love.
  • In May 2154, they would set a trap using the Gwyneth's Star to capture a Klingon Bird of Prey, the Bok Trigosh.
  • And shortly after that, they set a second trap to attack and board the federal research vessel, Prichard Lee, from which they took technology, computer logs, and hostages.
