Approximately half of global sea level rise is attributable to thermal expansion. I don't think any of our global warming denialists have acknowledged that.

Much of the US has seen excess rainfalls for well over a year, with many areas approaching two years. There was also excess 'record breaking' snowfalls over wide areas.

and all that fresh water from flooding has been running off into the gulf is causing havoc with the fishing and tourist industry... algae bloom, creating a dead-zone in the sea of approx 8000 square miles. oyster beds killed off, poisoned sea life, fish moving out to where they can feed, shrimp and crab increasingly hard to get...

We are "cleaning up" (leaving aside for the moment that CO2 is neither dirty nor s pollutant) to a greater degree than any other country on the planet without the need for a meaningless scrap of paper that would be enforced against us to transfer wealth, and ignored by everyone else.

Why is it that the same people that insist did they don't need the framework of religion in order to be good people and a piece of paper does not a marriage make think that it's wonderful to sign meaningless agreements with countries that have no intention of following what it is they've just agreed to.

These are the same fucking idiots or at least the offspring of the same fucking idiots that used to insist on unilateral nuclear disarmament by the United States for the greater good of the world.

They really aren't worthy of engaging in debate. They're incapable of logical arguments. They're good for a mindless quarrel, tough... if you're into that sort of thing.

I’ve got better things to do than argue with anyone. Things are much easier to state an opinion and move on. No matter how many facts are presented, people are still going to believe what they want to believe whether it is truth or a lie.

Only good thing about all of this is us seeing that if the defense and national parks can foot this bill, they have too much money budgeted to them. Use that money elsewhere.

The national parks are in bad shape, especially after the shutdown earlier this year. There’s lots of damage to be repaired.

I agree. Yet, did I not read 2.4 million was diverted for this political show? So....I think 10x that should be removed from their budget to assure future generations the money we allocate is used appropriately. Lessons, are sometimes hard to learn.

i think it's a case of they're hurting already, but his "reallocation" of funding is gonna make the situation worse. if he can't take it from them, no doubt it'll be something else society needs

The president made an appointment. They paid him back by reallocating funds.

Only one problem. It is 100% illegal to use public funds for political purposes. Read trump's comments about it....political. So once again, the law only applies to republicans if they agree with it. If it goes to court as it should, the park service could lose all federal funding. We either follow laws...or let us not have any Federal laws.

Yeah, it's like saying I'm not giving up cigarettes until you give up cigarettes. It's just self damning in the end. Australian climate deniers (I'm Australian) have the same argument - "China and India need to clean up first". Tell those Australians they are polluting at more than double the rate of the Chinese, per person, and you can literally hear the sound of crickets chirping in the silence. Having worked in China for some time, I can tell you China is doing much more than Australia and USA to clean up their act.
