Carl Peters
  • (Note: Dates are based upon a Role Play starting date of 28 November 2043.)
  • Physical Description:
  • Personality:
    • Quiet, reserved, soft spoken.
    • Heterosexual.
    • Dedicated and loyal.
  • History:
    • Born in the family home, 25 May 2019. The other children included two older brothers and a younger sister.
    • His family had a small farm/ranch at the meeting of Joseph Creek and the Grand Ronde River, southwest of the tiny walled town of Rogersburg, Washington. (Google Maps link).
    • A series of tragedies devastated his family and left him all alone:
      • When he was 14, his 16 year old brother was bitten by a rattle snake and died after days of misery.
      • When he was 16, his 14 year old sister disappeared, presumably kidnapped by a band of men who regularly terrorized the Rogersburg area. She was never seen or heard from again, presumably sold into sexual servitude in a distant, larger town.
      • Finally, when he was 20 years old, those same bandits attacked the homestead, killing his parents and eldest brother after they put up a fight to protect the family's resources. Carl was forced to flee into the hills, from which he watched the bandits set the homestead ablaze and herd the stock animals away.
    • He fled to the south into Northeast Oregon.
    • He found work when he could, but as an outsider he was rarely trusted enough to feel comfortable.
    • Then -- in a very unique way -- Carl found the Postal Service of the Restored United States of America:
      • Carl was in a small town when an Express Rider named Zachary McClintock nearly ran him down.
      • Zach attempted to make up for the accident by inviting Carl to East Sort City to apply for work with the Postal Service.
      • Carl began as a mail sorter and general laborer.
      • But his friendship with Zach bloomed, and after Zach had spent months teaching him to ride a horse, Carl landed a job as a Route Carrier.
    • Possessions worth noting:
      • .45 caliber revolver, once his father's weapon.
      • Widow Maker, his horse. (A mare, she got her name after 2 married male riders fell from her and subsequently died of their injuries. After that, no one wanted to ride her and she was actually scheduled to be slaughtered, roasted, and fed to the Postal Carriers. Zach convinced the East Sort City Herdsman to give Carl a shot at domesticating the bitch, and surprisingly, Widow Maker took to Carl in an instant.)
      • Saddle, saddle bags, bed roll ... and not much more.

Victor Wolfe -- (Surname was originally Night Wolf, as is explained below.)

(Note: Dates are based upon a Role Play starting date of 28 November 2043.)

Position in the story:
  • Officially, he is the Sheriff of Poseidon's Bay (formally Aberdeen, Washington).
  • Unofficially -- after having banished or executed the Mayor and the town's Elders who opposed him -- he is essentially the Dictator of the town.
  • He commands both the Police and the Militia.
  • And through diplomacy, trade, extortion, and outright murderous violence, he is the most powerful and/or influential man in Western Washington State.

Physical Description:
  • Image.
  • 44 years old (born 5 June 2009)
  • 6'2", 220 pounds; fit, strong, muscular but with what he calls a comfortable layer of winter insulation.
  • Graying brunette hair; gray-blue eyes.
  • Nearly always has a couple of days hair growth on his face.
  • Lots of scars, as will be explained.

Personality:
  • Alpha Male type, dominating.
  • Misogynistic; believes women were put on this Earth to serve men, and a woman who is not serving a man -- in particular sexually -- is wasting her God-given talents.
  • Heterosexual; not at all monogamous. He engaged in both consensual and nonconsensual sibling incest as a teen and young adult (explained below).
  • Dedicated and loyal to those who are so to him; vindictive and cruel to those who aren't.
  • Demanding.
  • Power hungry. Willing to use extortion, violence, and even murder to get what he wants from those who won't give it to him willingly.

Birth and Parents:
  • Victor was born on 5 June 2009 in Moclips on the Central Washington coast.
  • His father was Jonathan Night Wolf, a Chinook Indian. "Jon" lived on the Quinault Indian Reservation just to the north of Moclips.
  • His mother was Peggy Rogers, a Caucasian who -- after the opioid overdose deaths of both of her parents -- lived with her grandparents in Moclips.
  • Jon was 35 when he met and -- very soon afterward -- began having sex with then-14 year old Peggy.

Jon Night Wolf's history:
  • The Chinook Tribe was never recognized by the Federal Government.
  • It was instead rolled into the Quinault Nation and given less-than-full rights on the Quinault Reservation, located on the Central Washington coast.
  • The Chinook were never fully appreciated or welcomed on whole as a people by the Quinault, though certain individuals amongst them faired well.
  • Jon wasn't one of those certain individuals. He grew up feeling like an unwanted outcast, the result of which was a life of drinking, drugging, criminal activity, and unhealthy sexual behavior.
  • He never held a steady job and instead developed an annual routine centered around hunting and fishing, regardless of whether the catch was in season or not.
  • After he met and began seeing Peggy, Jon's annual routine was altered only slightly to be as follows:
    • He spent the spring and early summer fishing, hunting, and carousing (with women other than Peggy), mostly on the Quinault Reservation or further north into the Olympic Peninsula.
    • He returned to Moclips in late summer, where he would -- among other things -- ride Peggy incessantly, invariably knocking her up.
    • After leaving her some money on which to live, Jon would disappear back onto the reservation for the Autumn and, in particular, for the Fall Chinook fishing season.
    • He would return to Moclips for the Winter to be waited on hand and foot by Peggy and, to a lesser extent, her grandparents, who tolerated Jon because of Peggy's love for him.
    • And each year repeated.
    • When he would receive news of his most recent child's birth -- usually in late Spring or early Summer -- Victor would return to Moclips to be with Peggy.
    • After a few days or weeks, he'd suddenly pack up his gear, leave Peggy another stash of cash, and return to the Reservation to continue his routine.

2007-2014: The birth of the Night Wolf tribe:
  • Victor's mother consistently and faithfully popped out a kid every late Spring or early Summer for 8 straight years.
  • In order, she birthed two daughters, a son (Victor), a daughter, two sons, a daughter, and a son (who died shortly after Peggy did, both from complications of child birth).
  • Because Jon never married Peggy, Victor and his siblings weren't accepted as members of the Quinault Tribe. (The Tribe did its best not to recognize such children as a way of preventing them from gaining a share of the earnings from the Reservation's casino, logging, mining, and fishing profits.)
  • The current status of the children of the Night Wolf tribe is listed below as "Update: Victor and his siblings".

2014-2020: Peggy's death and Victor's return:
  • Peggy died in 2014 during the birth of her 8th child. The boy, who had been 2 months premature, died days later. Victor wasn't there for either death.
  • After Peggy's death, Jon's visits to Moclips became more frequent and longer in duration.
  • He was determined to ensure that his children knew that he was their father and that he was the one who would direct their lives.
  • He would still disappear for hunting, fishing, and carousing, but over the years his absences became fewer and shorter in length.

2020-2021: Apocalypse and survival on the Reservation
  • The beginning of the end came on 3 November 2020 when a North Korean ICBM delivered a biological weapon to Vancouver Island, British Columbia. (It was widely accepted that the weapon was likely targeting Seattle, Washington, yet came up short when it released its payload.)
  • A nuclear response by the US resulted in China and then Russia also sending aloft nuclear ICBMs. Seattle, Tacoma, and Portland were all nuked, as were dozens of cities across the US.
  • To protect his children -- now ages 7-13 -- from the mayhem that soon followed, Jon relocated them -- as well as their now very elderly grandparents -- to his hunting cabin on the Quinault Reservation.
  • They survived by fishing, hunting, raising animals for food (and other uses), and -- when absolutely necessary -- performing honest work for others. Jon continued his criminal activity and drug sales, bringing 11 year old Victor into the family business. Unknown to Jon, his eldest daughter -- then 14 -- began prostituting herself.

2022: Incest, prostitution, and the death of the youngest Night Wolfs:
  • After having lost his youngest son in child birth years earlier, Jon lost his now-youngest son to a fever of unknown cause.
  • A month later, the youngest daughter died of injures resulting from an accidental fall.
  • Jon's drinking and drugging and the verbal and physical abuse that came with it worsened.
  • After his now-15 year old daughter suffered a miscarriage and he uncovered her prostitution activity, Jon raped her and then became her pimp and frequent sex partner.
  • A few months after that, he caught his then-14 year old daughter engaged in heavy petting with an older teen. He beat the boy almost to death, then raped that daughter. He turned her out to prostitution as well.
  • Over the months to come, with this additional prostitution income, Jon's personal efforts in contributing to the family's coffers decreased. He became a free loader, something he'd raised his children not to be.
  • The in-laws discovered what was happening between Jon and his two eldest daughters. They attempted to flee with all 4 female children, but the eldest daughter -- by now dedicated to pleasing her father in whatever way was necessary -- refused to leave and alerted her father.
  • Jon nearly beat the grandfather-in-law to death. He then essentially banished the couple, telling them that if he found them anywhere on the Reservation, he would kill them both.

2023-5: Victor became man of the house:
  • Now at 14, Victor is becoming larger, stronger, meaner, and more ambitious than most boys his age ... and even more so than his own father. And he is becoming annoyed with how much his father is taking from the family without increasing his own contribution to it.
  • He becomes more involved in criminal activity, starting some of his own ventures without informing his father.
  • Following in his father's footsteps, he also began have sex with his older sisters, now 17 and 16.
  • His father discovered Victor's activities -- the incest and the criminal freelancing -- and beat all three of his eldest children, one after another, for what he considered betrayal.
  • Neither Victor nor the sisters were going to have any of this, though. They conspired one late night to get their father drunk and down to the Lake Quinault boat dock near the family's cabin, where Victor slit Jon's throat before weighting him and dumping him in the middle of the lake.
  • From this point on, Victor -- only just recently turned 15 -- was the man of the family.
  • But without Jon -- who had had a reputation as being the scariest Injun on the Rez -- to help keep other criminals at bay, Victor found himself unable to hold back the many dangers facing the family.
  • An armed group that -- because they were Quinault -- was allowed to freely operate on the Reservation by what amounted to a Tribal Police Force had the Night Wolf tribe in their sights. His second eldest sister was found raped and murdered one evening; his now youngest living brother simply disappeared; and his now youngest sister was kidnapped and, by the gang's own admission, sold into sexual servitude to a crime boss on Vancouver Island.

2025: South to Aberdeen:
  • Victor led what remained of his family to Moclips: his two years older sister, his one year younger sister, and his two years younger brother.
  • Aftermath the mayhem that followed the 2020 attacks, though, there is nothing left for them in Moclips.
  • After discovering that their grandparents were still alive and living in Aberdeen, the family went to live with them there.
  • Racism and the discrimination that came with it had been growing since the War. Many communities were now based around race, ethnicity, nationality, or language.
  • Aberdeen was one of those communities. An anger toward and distrust for non-Whites had made being Native American (amongst other races) a danger.
  • Victor had been warned about this, and when he and his family arrived in Aberdeen to seek shelter, he claimed their surname was Wolfe. (Aberdeen once had a well known family with that surname, and he claimed to be part of that family.)

2026-2032: Securing a place in Aberdeen
  • Life was initially hard for the Wolfe Family, but they stayed together under Victor's dictatorial direction.
  • They had been in Aberdeen about a year when the Mayor's wife died. Victor ensured that the 50+ year old man took notice of his now-20 year old and very stunning sister. The pair began a secret affair, one in which Victor had hoped a child would lead to a marriage. After almost a year of no pregnancy, Victor took care of things himself, knocking up his sister. Two months later, faced with being called irresponsible for not doing the right thing for his child, the Mayor married the young beauty.
  • Victor, now 18 but claiming he was older, secured a job with the City that provided a home for the family and good compensation.
  • Victor married off his younger sister -- with whom he'd been having a less than consensual incestuous affair -- to the son of Aberdeen's Sheriff.
  • The Sheriff's son, as Victor had already known, was more interested in sticking his cock into other men than into Victor's sister. This information soon had Victor employed in and rising quickly through Aberdeen's Defense Force.

2036: Victor becomes Sheriff of Aberdeen:
  • By 2033, Victor had risen from Officer to Sergeant to Deputy Sheriff of Aberdeen.
  • His compensation -- both his official pay and what he took or extorted on the side -- was sufficient to support his family in style and allow him to build around himself a very dedicated group of men and women who saw him as a rising power in Aberdeen
  • But Victor wanted more: more money, more power, more everything.
  • Bandits and others had been causing Aberdeen problems for years, but the Sheriff and Mayor of the time -- both now his in-laws -- wanted to use diplomacy or trade to deal with those who didn't want to play nice.
  • Victor, however, wanted to take squads of heavily armed, well trained men out beyond the city and kick ass.
  • He began leading hand picked men in secret attacks across the countryside. They came back with loot that impressed the town's population; and attacks by bandits lessened and eventually ended altogether.
  • Everyone knew who was responsible for this, Victor; and everyone knew who hadn't lifted a finger to help, the Sheriff and the Mayor.
  • When they saw their power threatened by Victor, the Sheriff and Mayor threatened Victor: with demotion, banishment, and -- privately -- even execution.
  • Victor made these threats known to the people, and much of the population of Aberdeen took to the streets to protest in favor of Victor becoming the new Sheriff.
  • Victor provoked a showdown between his supporters and those of the Sheriff, and in a short street battle, a dozen men -- including the Sheriff -- were killed.
  • Victor claimed the position of Sheriff -- he was, after all, already 2nd in command -- and demanded that the Mayor step down. The Mayor -- Victor's brother-in-law -- did just that.
  • Victor was overwhelmingly elected to Sheriff by a voice vote of citizens in the town square. Some wanted him to be Mayor instead of or in addition to Sheriff.
  • But Victor had other plans. He had been building a close relationship with his brother-in-law, Evan Cooper -- the son of the now dead Sheriff -- and had been providing him with young boys and men who had been fulfilling Evan's secret sexual desires. (In exchange for the service and the discretion, Evan had been secretly reporting his father's activities to Victor, part of the reason Victor had been able to stay out in front of the now dead lawman's activities and succeed as he had.)
  • Victor personally recommended Evan as Mayor of Aberdeen, and with a second voice vote -- less enthusiastic, but still a majority vote -- Evan was elected.
  • And, of course, Evan became Victor's puppet.
  • Over the weeks and months to come, Victor slowly took total power over Aberdeen and -- through his puppet Mayor -- began to direct the construction of a secured city.
  • He trained and directed Militia, which went out into the countryside to expand Aberdeen's control:
    • People who could be a benefit to a growing Aberdeen were encouraged to move to the growing city. Those who put up a fuss were sometimes punished, sometimes left alone (only to be punished or harassed until they finally relented to coming to Aberdeen).
    • Anything of value was purchased (typically at far less than actual value) or simply stolen. This included stock animals, equipment, tools, and more. Victor was determined to build a thriving community in Aberdeen.
    • And protection was offered to those who remained in the countryside, at a cost, of course. Those who didn't want to pay the Fee would find themselves attacked by anonymous bandits (who often had the same look to them as did Victor's Militia).

2038: Victor becomes dictator of Poseidon's Bay:
  • Eventually, Victor no longer needed Evan as Mayor. The population had accepted that Victor was the true power, and even though only Sheriff, they followed his every word and essentially ignored the Mayor.
  • Victor exposed Evan's secret life as a gay cheater, causing the citizens of Aberdeen to demand his resignation. But before Evan could step down, his wife -- Victor's sister, of course -- put a knife into his chest. (She had known and not cared about the gay encounters, but she'd wanted to make it appear as though she'd only just learned and was both appalled and devastated by the news. She was put under house arrest by Victor to await trial, but once he'd whipped up enough sympathy for her amongst the people, he granted her a pardon.)
  • Victor used his charisma, reputation, and influence to essentially get himself in a position of becoming the town's dictator. Some thought there should be a vote, but as no one wanted to oppose him, Victor won with just another voice vote in the town square. Some thought there should be a form of elected government, and although Victor said he thought that was a good idea, none would come to pass. There were influential people amongst the population who advised Victor on certain situations, but none ever rose to hold what you could call a political office.
  • Victor wanted his new city to set apart from the Aberdeen that had come before it. He suggested the idea of a new name, and soon Aberdeen was known by its new name: "Poseidon's Bay".

Producing an heir:
  • Along the way, Victor had married the daughter of an influential businessman from Hoquiam, Aberdeen's sister city to the west. They tried for children repeatedly, but two died shortly after birth and after three miscarriages his wife died as well.
  • Victor tried to birth a child via three mistresses, too, but to no avail.
  • He was getting desperate to produce an heir, as he was already thinking of himself more as a monarch than an elected leader, and without an heir all of his work would be for naught.
  • Victor had been employing spies and informants of all sorts to learn all he could about the political and military status of the territories around him; and in the process of collecting this information, he'd learned of a fertile family that had an available daughter.
  • The Hunts had once been residents of Aberdeen, but long ago they had moved to Mossbank in Montana near the Flathead Indian Reservation.
  • He began using the Postal Service's Express Riders to communicate on a regular basis with the Patriarch of the family in Mossbank, who also happened to be that town's Mayor.
  • Victor sent Mossbank some badly needed supplies one Autumn, some seed the next Spring in time for planting, and a small herd of goats (that Victor had confiscated from a village of Quinault as revenge for having been run off the Reservation years earlier).
  • And all the while, Victor was suggesting a marriage between himself and the man's daughter, Odilia.
  • The deal was made, and our story begins.

Political Ambitions:
  • Victor's ambitions go far beyond being Sheriff (and Mayor) of Poseidon's Bay.
  • Through diplomacy, extortion, or force, he has established himself as a powerful leader in Western Washington.
  • He communicates regularly with communities throughout Western Washington, Northwestern Oregon, and Southwestern British Columbia.
  • His ultimate goal is to create and become Governor of a new sovereign Nation called Olympica that would include, at a minimum, all of the former Washington State west of I-5 and Puget Sound.

Status of Victor and his siblings:
  • Gloria (Sister): married to Aberdeen's former Mayor, who lives a quiet life as a businessman after Victor deposed him. The sister and her husband are raising a child fathered by Victor, to ensure that the happy couple wound up married, an act that helped Victor rise to power.
  • Sister: raped and murdered by Quinault thugs. (2025, age 17.)
  • Victor:
  • Pamela (Sister): widow of the former Sheriff's son (yet another political marriage aimed at improving Victor's standing in Aberdeen). She killed her husband after the public found he had for years been involved in gay encounters with younger men and boys. (She'd known, of course, and the murder -- which Victor pardoned -- was done just to save face for her.)
  • Kyle (Brother): a Lieutenant in the Poseidon's Bay Militia, a skilled warrior who leads a very skilled Squad on mostly classified missions against enemies throughout Southwestern Washington.
  • Brother: disappeared on the Quinault reservation, likely killed by Quinault thugs. (2025, age 13.)
  • Sister: kidnapped by Quinault thugs and sold into sexual servitude somewhere to the north, likely British Columbia.
  • Brother: died shortly after childbirth.

Odilia Hunt
  • (Note: Dates are based upon a Role Play starting date of 28 November 2043.)
  • Physical Description:
    • 22 years old; born December 4, 2021 at the peak of the total solar eclipse.
    • 5'7", body toned by the wilds.
    • Espresso brown long wavy hair, dark hazel eyes
  • Personality:
    • Outspoken, carefree and mischievous.
    • Heterosexual.
    • Fiercely loyal, softhearted and family orientated.
  • History:
    • Born on a boat, her mother had been lantern fishing in the North Bay when she her water broke.
    • Father: Wyatt Hunt, mayor of Mossbank; ex-professor of anatomy. He was raised in a upstanding family, respected by everyone in the town for their moral principals and generous hearts. Meet Melody when she came through town and instantly fell in love. She played hard to get but by that time next year they were married.
    • Mother: Melody Hunt, deceased; midwife and medicine woman. Passed away three winters ago when the Fever swept through the village. A child of rape, her mother died from complications and her husband who refused to claim the child as his own cursed her. She was raised by the tribe's Shaman, Red Bears, and his wife and medicine woman, Silent Tears.
    • Siblings include: Kent (21), Ivy (20), Remington (16), Bishop (14), Heather and Hawthorne (11), Amos (9), Dove (7)
    • Birthplace: Poseidon's Bay, moved to Mossbank when she was six and has been a citizen ever since.
    • Learned medicine and science from her parents, become a skilled healer. When they moved to Mossbank near the Flathead Reservation where her mother was raised she learned even more from her Grandparents and other tribe members.
    • As they lived past the regular routes of the Postal Carriers the men and women who rode for the service and future of the Restored United States of America were more legend then fact. Because of their heroic standing in the small village of Mossbank, becoming a rider for the Restored United States of America was a dream for many children.
    • When she was seven voiced her wish to be a postal rider/healer to her Grandfather he gifted her with a yearling colt to raise and train. Telling her that if she managed to gentle him and learn to ride him her dreams would be that much closer to becoming true.
    • Sky Runner, that yearling colt, grew up to be a beautiful chestnut stallion and the two were thick as thieves. He aged well but in the spring of his 13th year he fought a mountain lion so Odilia could escape and died of his wounds. She made a light leather jacket from his leather and has it still. He was the first and last horse that she would call hers.
    • Her brother Kent is the best bow hunter in the village and while Odilia can wield a bow just as well if not better, she is a horrible hunter as she can't bring herself to kill anything.
  • Possessions worth noting:
    • Winter, 4 year old leopard appaloosa horse. Although she doesn't see him as a possession as much as a friend and companion. Rode but a handful of times as he's the one who picks his riders. Hates to be saddled. Weakness is oatcakes and rump scratches.
    • Her skinned beaver bag of herbs, salves and tonics.
    • Her Osage bow and machete knife.
    • Saddle, saddle bags, bed roll, buffalo skin and weather oiled canvas.

Past, Present, and Future of our Role Play

Pre-War International Political Situation
  • The world was ready to explode, figuratively, by Election Day in the United States, 3 November 2020.
  • Tensions between the US and North Korea over the latter’s nuclear program led to stiffer sanctions (2017-19); Coast Guard/US Navy ship searches of North Korean vessels in International Waters (2019); and finally a US Naval blockade of North Korean ports (Summer 2020). Most people believed the latter was more a political than military move by the current President to look tough for the upcoming election, in which he was expected to lose by 8-14 points.)
  • Tensions between the US and China over the latter’s refusal to be tough on North Korea led to the US threatening to indemnify billions of dollars in Chinese-held debt as well as freeze bank accounts for Chinese businesses, businessmen, and government officials; and the US blockade of North Korean ports led to several incidents between American and Chinese planes and ships, some of them resulting in fatalities.
  • Tensions between the US and Russia deepened over The Ukraine situation (which included the US selling high tech weapons to The Ukraine and Russia sending more Regular troops into the war zone); over the 2016 Presidential election, after a smoking gun discovered in 2018 seemed to indicate that Donald Trump did indeed talk to and make promises to Russians pre-election; and over incidents between Russian and American Forces in Syria after the United Nations voted that the US should leave that country but instead the President increased American operations and troop levels.
  • And Tensions between the US and Pakistan over the Presidents declaration of that nuclear state as a sanctuary for Islamic terrorists (2017-2020) led to the US cutting off financial assistance (2018), Pakistan forbidding any US troop activity in or over Pakistani territory (also 2018); the US ignoring the ban and continuing to operate in the country, which ultimately led to American forces and aircraft attacking Pakistani military targets; and finally the United Nations demanding that the US cease all such activities, a demand that was ignored.
  • The stage was set for tragedy…

Timeline of Important Events:

2009:
  • 5 June: Victor (Night Wolf) Wolfe is born in Moclips, Washington.

2020: The Apocalypse begins
  • 3 November:
    • A North Korean ICBM targeting Seattle, Washington, comes up short and delivers its biological weapon to the southern end of Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
    • Flight time of the ICBM was just 32 minutes, and by the time it reached its target Tokyo, Seoul, and the US Military bases in Guam had been nuked.
    • An ICBM aimed at Pearl Harbor -- also carrying a biological weapon -- was intercepted but not in time to prevent it from dispersing its dangerous payload.
    • The US response -- nuclear and conventional -- was devastating, and would leave much of the country uninhabitable for generations to come.
    • China -- which had been informed of the North Korean attack just moments before it began -- had already been threatening the US with a counterstrike of their own should the US launch nuclear weapons at North Korea.
    • From that point on, who did what to whom is not entirely known.
    • What is known is that nuclear weapons, biological weapons, EMP devices, and more struck and did significant damage all across the Pacific North West (PNW) of the United States, which is, of course, the focus of our story.
  • November-December:
    • Mayhem spread across the PNW.
    • The Greater Seattle Area suffered 1 million casualties from the initial biological weapon fired by North Korea.
    • Then Seattle was nuked, killing another 2 million; as was Tacoma, killing another half million; and Portland, Oregon, leaving another 2 million dead or dying. These attacks were (presumably) from Chinese ICBMs.
    • Millions more would die across Washington State before years end from illness, radiation poisoning, exposure, starvation, violence, and more.
    • Many of the survivors expected help and aid from the State and Federal government once the attacks ended, but that assistance never came.
    • Armed groups -- sometimes civilians, sometimes renegade military units -- began taking over towns and cities.

2021:
  • Winter:
    • The Winter in Southwest Washington was one of the harshest on record.
    • Add to that the fallout circling the globe and the continuing spread of the virus the North Korean bomb had delivered.
    • By the time Spring arrived, the former population of Washington State of almost 8 million had dropped to less than 100,000 ... and the population would continue to drop each year for almost a decade.
  • Spring:
    • In many areas, fortified towns began to spring up.
    • Those that survived in-fighting or raiders began to prosper.
    • Those that didn't were often found smoldering with bodies littering the terrain.
    • People still died of the many causes spoken of above, but the lucky ones began to feel like they may have a future ahead of them.

This isn't done, of course. I simply ran out of time.
