The Living Works of Art Challenge II - Female Body Edition

Ladies,

Your curator must apologize, he was so busy . . . ahem . . . curating, that he neglected to post the next challenge at the scheduled hour.

Your next challenge is "Winter (The Cold Girl)" by Houdon:

*rushes in, panting, and climbs on the podium*

I decided that I needed to be cold in order to depict the 'Cold Girl' convincingly. So I scuttled into the garden into the shadows with just my little fleecy blanket. And this is the result.

I have to agree that the blanket-wrangling for this pose was very difficult, even without having to deal with timers and remote controls and the like. And most of my outtakes made me look like the hideously scary 'woman from the well' in the 'Ring' remakes... *shudder*

With the way the light comes in in the picture, you look like a maiden from a fairy tale.

So lovely Numi.
You'd never know of the difficulties from this pic.

Beautiful Numi! Glad you could make it. I love the setting. It's great to see the different choices in each interpretation like, where Lizzie went dark and brooding under the hood, you chose to glow.:rose:

Thank you Fred, for the continued index updates and for supplying the missing sculpture images for this challenge.

You say cold, but the gallery just got warmer with this new artistic expression.:rose:

Nice method acting and beautiful pose in the setting. All the best museums have a statuary garden, and this model opens that garden for us.:rose:

I had just updated the index when you posted, I saw that lit's server had blocked you websites. Glad I found the right pictures.

back to sleep for this old borg fred

Man, this was harder than I had expected. That damn blanket was not cooperating with me at all! I had to wrap myself like a mummy so it wouldn't fall off after setting the timer and running away far enough. I need one of those pashmina thingys.

This is a 'fuck it, it's good enough' pics.

Your 'good enough' is plenty here, I'd say.

Laughing! Amen, sister... I tried with a quilt [too stiff] and two different silk shawls [too slippery, couldn't get silk to stay on my head]. When I concentrated on the legs, I got the head tilt wrong, or the arms. Ended up with LOTS of out-takes and nothing quite right.

I love your interpretation, Tali, so presumably my "fuck it, it's good enough" will also pass muster.

Winter: the cold girl

Your 'winter' pic is not so much brrrr... as it is mmmm......

Running outside to pose, you have more courage than me. I couldn't stand still out there long enough to pose. And you get a very nice pic too.

I love this image the way that the lighting creates a halo around you and the symbolism of your ample bosom flowing out over the top of your arms is amazing

Nice job, Mara. The work paid off.:)

Thanks, JRP.

And what a wonderful result. I adore the light through the foliage. And your haloed head.

Sweet lady. :kiss::heart:

My Venus Italica.

Oh my goodness, Icy. This is spectacular, indeed.
The lighting, the softness...
Wow.

Winter: the cold girl

Tali and Mara -- these are beautiful renditions. Each has its own kind of chilling tone.
