Transgendereism

The problem with your problems is....

We don't fucking care.
Who's "we", dummy?
You and your bestie David Bowie?

Now be a good boy and go put some more styling mud into your hair, and post another selfie in the Blurt thread.

Mine was better!

;)

Threw in a touch of political history.

lol…
He actually did that, the other day - post a selfie in the Blurt thread. It looked as if a hedge-hog nested on top of his head.
The other guys' comments were hillarious!

Speaking of hermaphroditic hoe cake eaters...

How's it hanging Luk, limp and to the left?

My penis is on your mind as often as my balls rest on your wife's chin.

Who's "we", dummy?

Someone else referenced Bowie in a cool way.
You thought it was in insult to me and regurgitated it because you're almost as bright as AJ.
Yes, I style my lettuce with "mud".

Luk is pushing 50, but still dreams of being Tony Hawk...don't crush his dreams!

And don't touch the lettuce!

What "insult", dummy?
Making fun of your hairstyle? Are you offended by That?
Don't be such a pussy:rolleyes:

And if I or other posters use epithets such as dumdum dumm. and so on, it's only because we borrowed them from Sean and you - you use them all the time. It's unanimously agreed on that you behave like an asshat, but that you're anything But stupid or a dummy, silly.

We already did a variation on this thread. It seems that the most would chuck Science out the window and go with the emotional well-being of the mentally ill to play at whatever they think they are at the moment.

I'm aware of that, that thread even has links to the mental disorder part. But that was before Loretta shot off her mouth about this being the new "Civil Rights" crusade.

The problem that I'm having is this over-the top PCnness of a small group of so-called "libs.", that often escalates to ridiculous proportions.

Like in the case of Target bathrooms:
- That was a silly poor-thought of move on Target's , because it enables sexual predators even pedophiles (who outnomber pre-op transsexuals by far) to take advantage of the situation and to peep into toilets.

And yet, it's Not the transgender minority who made a big hoo-ha about it. The politicians did, to further their political agenda aka to attack republicans.
- They claim to "care" about transgenders but in fact they don't give a shit and they just used them, because their bathroom campaign actually hurt that minority, more than it helped them. Just look at the public backlash and ridicule!

Stfu dummy, nobody cares, paki boy.

Just because apa decided to include it in the dsm -for now- doesn't put it on the same level with the 'mental disorders'.
They did it mainly to secure funding and appropriate monitoring for all the interventions needed, and in order for the issue to be taken seriously.

Otherwise, the real crazies like Bruce Jenner will soon decide to play "let me change dresses", only to change their minds afterwards.
What a circus and a trainwreck, that one was… .

They revised their stance years ago.

In the last thread on the topic, the mental illness aspect of the phenomenon was from one of the leaders in the field.

I agree, there are hermaphrodites and other physical aberrations. There is also mental illness. Political discussion is when we fixate on one and exclude the other at the peril of the afflicted individual's future.

He's no such thing. He's an anomaly in this day and age.

I'm not normal.

You're not normal.

Why not?

Because we are on Literotica, an erotic website.

We need treatment - or more tits!

You know those times you wander into a thread and you're not even sure where to begin? You have to wonder if it's worth it to keep walking around the maze, searching for an entrance point.

The funny thing is they don't realize that over the course of history their hateful views are not at all normal. Much like their views on abortion.

Its entirely fag intimidation of the general population. Fags today are the social crust and icing over the rest, and impose their agenda on all. In most respects they act like the Jews of Germany during the Weimar Republic, 1% of Germans, and dominant everywhere.

They revised their stance years ago.

You're right.
They changed the name from "Gender identity disorder" to "Gender dysphoria" to emphasize the fact that their only "pathology" lies in the distress or depression often experienced by some of them. (which is because they are either forced to conform to society's 'standards. that don't fit them, or because they are stigmatized and discriminated against, if they decide to be true to themselves).

Which is more of a reflection of how mistreated they are by our society, as opposed to Them being abnormal.

I liked this article - I thought that it made things a bit more clear and that it put the dots on the "i"s:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/06/04/gender-dysphoria-dsm-5_n_3385287.html

In the new edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) the now-defunct diagnosis of gender identity disorder (GID) receives a new name, gender dysphoria, which reflects a new emphasis.

In the old DSM-IV, GID focused on the “identity” issue— namely, the incongruity between someone’s birth gender and the gender with which he or she identifies, said Robin Rosenberg, a clinical psychologist and co-author of the psychology textbook “Abnormal Psychology”
- While this incongruity is still crucial to gender dysphoria, the drafters of the new DSM-5 wanted to emphasize the importance of distress about the incongruity for a diagnosis. (The DSM-5 uses the term gender rather than sex to allow for those born with both male and female genitalia to have the condition.)

This shift reflects recognition that the disagreement between birth gender and identity may not necessarily be pathological if it does not cause the individual distress.
For instance, many transgender people — those who identify with a gender different than the one they were assigned at birth — are not distressed by their cross-gender identification and should not be diagnosed with gender dysphoria, Rosenberg said.

Transgender people and their allies have pointed out that distress in gender dysphoria is not an inherent part of being transgender. This sets it apart from many other disorders in the DSM, because if someone is depressed, for example, he or she is, almost by definition, distressed as part of depression. In contrast, the distress that accompanies gender dysphoria arises as a result of a culture that stigmatizes people who do not conform to gender norms, Rosenberg said."

August 17, 2012 — The American Psychiatric Association (APA) has issued official position statements of support for access to healthcare and a repeal of laws and policies that discriminate against individuals who are transgender and gender variant.

In a release, the APA said it will advocate for the removal of barriers to care for gender transition treatment and for the protection of civil rights. The organization has supported lesbian and gay rights since 1973, when it removed homosexuality from the second edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-II), and now it wants to publicly support the transgender community.

APA Stands Up for Transgender, Gender-Variant Individuals

August 17, 2012 — The American Psychiatric Association (APA) has issued official position statements of support for access to healthcare and a repeal of laws and policies that discriminate against individuals who are transgender and gender variant.

In a release, the APA said it will advocate for the removal of barriers to care for gender transition treatment and for the protection of civil rights. The organization has supported lesbian and gay rights since 1973, when it removed homosexuality from the second edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-II), and now it wants to publicly support the transgender community.

"Transgender and gender variant people are frequently denied medical, surgical, and psychiatric care related to gender transition," notes the APA statement. The new position statements were created by the APA Caucus of Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Psychiatrists.

"The APA has officially put itself on record as being in support of these issues. Being transgender should not imply that a person is not a fully capable citizen," Jack Drescher, MD, who is coauthor of the statements and who is a training and supervising analyst at the William Alanson White Institute of Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis and Psychology in New York City, told Medscape Medical News.

Discrimination Damaging

"Discrimination and lack of equal civil rights is damaging to the mental health of individuals," writes the APA.

"For example, gender-based discrimination and victimization were found to be independently associated with attempted suicide in a population of transgender individuals, 32% of whom had histories of trying to kill themselves."

Both the American Medical Association and the American Psychological Association have previously released strong policy statements of support for these individuals.

The APA's new Access to Care position statement declares that the organization

recognizes that these individuals "can benefit greatly from medical and surgical gender transition treatments";

supports public and private health insurance coverage for this treatment; and

is against the rejection of this coverage when it has been prescribed by a clinician.

The new discrimination position statement declares that the APA

supports all laws that protect the civil rights of these individuals;

urges the repeal of any discriminatory laws and policies;

opposes discrimination in the areas of healthcare, as well as in employment, housing, and education; and

"declares that no burden of proof of such judgment, capacity, or reliability shall be placed upon these individuals greater than that imposed on any other persons."
