Do men really prefer younger women?

Looking youthful means trying to look younger...to look young.

It's the nature of the beast. Why split grey hairs with words?

Agreed, some go about looking "youthful" in a way that You find more tasteful, acceptable, stylish...whatever. Me too.

But the core issue...women trying to look younger than they are...is very real, regardless of your gymnastics.

And men enjoy women looking young, so thank you for your ongoing efforts in this regard!

You're welcome?

THIS :rose:

And you're gorgeous - because of, not in spite of, your age (whatever that may be).

This was a nice little gem to stumble upon. Thank you Laurel.

*ahem* 35, as of this coming Saturday. After that there will be no more counting. ;)

Lance Logic: Judging by the sales of hair regenerating products, older men have huge raging boners for younger men.

OR it could be that everybody likes to look their best.

Looking youthful is not the same as wanting to be young.

That is, there's a difference between the man who likes a good-looking woman (who are often, but not always, younger - plenty of overweight/unattractive 18-year-olds out there) and the man who actively and routinely pursues women young/naive enough to be unaware of his lack of prowess/maturity.

So, bald men are lower on the Kinsey scale for attraction to young men?

...Sounds about right.

It is an interesting assumption that younger minds are active. The most active minds I have known have been over the age of 40.

YES. :rose:

And I happily say that while being under 40. Right now, life is so much less about personal growth and more about raising kids - which certainly holds a degree of mental challenges, but I don't have the freedom to explore LIFE beyond mommy-hood at this point. It keeps my brain on one track, and one track only.

Wow, all of a suddent I miss feeling vibrant and creative and interesting. Geez.

it really doesn't matter that much to me, sure I'd like to try a younger girl because i've never been with a young woman, even when i was young i didn't get the chance.

the only woman i ever loved was 10 years older then me, i guess it doesn't really matter how old a person is when you think they are interested in you.

Yes. Yes we do. Good news is every year I get older there is another graduating class of younger women.

After reading this article, http://www.xojane.com/sex/30-is-the-...my-dating-life

and reading online comments from men stating how much they prefer younger women over us older ladies that are 25+ I came to the conclusion that it's very hard out here for us older ladies.Although I get mistaken for being a teenager OFTEN,I can't help but to feel somewhat jealous of women younger than me. But only little bit, than I realize how much GOD has blessed me,and how awesome I am.

Anyways, what's your guys opinions. I also would like to hear from men across the forum as to why they only go for younger women. And please, don't say they are fertile, cause most of these men of today don't want kids, but will say that bullshit anyways

Youth is overrated. Most of my lovers have skewed between late-20s to mid-40s. A woman who hasn't been around enough to articulate what she wants from life probably isn't going to offer great prospects as a partner. I won't dispute that there is absolutely a bit of ageism in modern dating culture, but I'm going to blame that on a culture of guys (not men, but GUYS) who've never been taught how to engage with women beyond surface appearances and superficial attractors like money or status.

Just speaking for myself, my preference has always been to date and go to bed with older women. In fact, I ended up married to an older woman.:)

No no no! Didn't you read Lancecastor's posts, see all the gifs? Clearly you are mistaken, because clearly all men prefer much younger women all the time. ;)

Before I surrendered to online dating, I met women randomly...and virtually all of them were 10-20 years younger than me. I didn't mind it, I just never met anyone my age (unmarried, anyway).

Nothing wrong with that. :rose: But there's a difference between "I generally end up dating younger women" or "I personally prefer younger women", and "all men prefer younger women".

Ha!

Teenage boys, on average, prefer girls a year older.

Men in their middle twenties usually prefer women a year or two younger.

Thirty-something men prefer women 5 to 10 years younger.

Many men in their 40s and 50s prefer women 10 to 20 years younger.

I personally prefer women that prefer me. It happens that a lot of the good ones my age are married. I remember being kind of adrift during the divorce thinking of just women I had met the past few years what their situation was and so on. It was hard to visualize, a bright, happy, attractive woman that was also available. In my mind I was thinking my "market" was bleak.

After I was single, a childhood crush had married an older man, who was in poor health I bumped into her on facebook on a friends wall. She and I got to talking because of my background about the challenges of the medical bills and so on.

After a bit, her husband passed. I wasn't sure about decorum, so I was supportive but not flirty. It may not have been as quickly as it seems but within 6 months or so, she was again happily married. Drat! Well I am happy for her, but...

Nothing wrong with that. :rose: But there's a difference between "I generally end up dating younger women" or "I personally prefer younger women", and "all men prefer younger women".

In another thread you mentioned that you assumed that older men dated you because you were mature for you age. In hindsight you feel they were maybe a bit immature, and you in hindsight were not as mature as you thought (paraphrase?)

Anyway. That post of yours got me to thinking. I date younger. I benefit by the immaturity of guys their age. Over time the guys their age will catch up and be worth their time for something long term. The way I look at it, if they are looking for recreation I am clean, careful and no worse a bad decision than most.

Law of diminishing returns? Keep going younger until your lines work again.

Yup.
