In those cases, the freemen were experienced fighters and the slaves were mostly fodder.

The winds are blowing its way over the trees outside of my house. It sounds like the ocean, like waves breaking on the shore of some long forgotten place. The only thing to make it sound as if civilization is near, the distant tinkling of wind chimes-yet I know they are only next door, voices will drift up vaguely to my ears, though the door is shut against such intrusions while I sit here with a fading blush falling from my cheeks...

Hi! Welcome to the Isle of Dreams. :rose: Have a pretty flower.

Purgatory is a story that I'm writing. My character, Kae, is a vivacious rock vocalist of a band called Careless Abyss. A lightning strike of lusty attraction zapped her as soon as she met one of her fans, Adam. Except Adam is that nice guy that's old school, a Professor of Religion and totally waiting to do the deed when he falls in love and gets married.

Then Adam meets Kae and all good intentions go out the window. The image is a perfect seduction idea for the story.

Plus, I have boots like the ones in the photo. I'm a shoeholic. Awesome boots, sexy heels and fun dance shoes are my thing. Well, one of them! I'm pretty glee when I can get boots or heels that are beautiful, comfy and danceable.

Okay, but the title.. Is Kae waiting for Adam? Or Adam her? Cause purgatory is a waiting place... I kinda don't get it.
 
Kae bulldozes into Adam's life and they will start dating + stuff. Overall, the relationship isn't what Adam had in mind for his life or what he thought he would choose. He becomes too complacent which leads to feeling unhappy and their relationship goes into a holding stance where neither are happy and not quite sure why. Their relationship becomes their purgatory. The story will ultimately be about what happens to them as they resolve to change the funked stasis.

That is the idea and goal for that story thread. I hope it gets there! I have a lot of fun writing Kae. She's outrageous. :cool:
