Hehehe sort of like that king we usurped, his royal guard were kobolds who kept rolling 17-20 on their will and reflex saves, man were those little buggers hard to defeat, in the end did I have to preform a bluff check to fool them into thinking the king was going to fire them for being kobolds, natural twenties is a gamer's holy grail in those situations. :D

Background: The birth of Zell was a simple one, born to a prostitute and an unknown patron, his true nature was a surprise to all, but he was lucky enough that all present were sane enough to listen to the mother who insisted that he be given the chance to live. His early life was spent in the basement of the brothel, raised by working girls and occasionally a bouncer on an off shift, once he was old enough he was put to work as the serving boy in the lower bar area, a job he excelled at initially, but as he went though puberty he quickly changed from that non threatening but unnaturally pale child with a tail in to a big horned bastard that couldn't help but scare the poor punters.

Zell was disappointed, he liked his job and his mother had been proud of him for having it, but his employer however found having him in the brothel to be bad for business. Thus Zell had to make his own way in the world, armed only with little but the shirt he wore and some brass knuckles the kind bouncer had given him for luck. At first he did try for a normal job, but that was notably unsuccessful, it wasn't until he was desperate enough to try the bounty board that he found his true calling.

Hurting people, if there was one thing Zell was a genius at, it was violence, the more he threw himself at his work the more he felt a power growing within him, a burning will that wouldn't die, and when that will took form he became great and terrible. The power of his blood took the form of a blade, bigger than him but light like a dagger, and filled with strength, he had formed his soul in to a weapon, and he had used it to kill another man.

The first time it happened it was an odd feeling, killing another sentient creature, true, they had all been filthy bandits raping and killing along the kings road, but still, they were living beings. A part of Zell was disgusted, but there was a part of him that had enjoyed it, the spray of blood and screams of broken men was like a drug, one that had Zell hooked.

And so Zell became a professional killer, a soldier for the king, part of the nonhuman auxiliaries, the pay was shit and most of the people he worked for were racist arseholes who would happily see him dead if he wernt so useful, but it let him do what he loved.

Once the wars ended, the army restructured, and one of the first things to go was the nonhuman auxiliaries, no surprise there, this however put Zell out of a job, and took his main outlet for entertainment away, which went about as well as expected. Zell quickly found himself on a downward spiral, with the massive influx of blades for hire, he couldn't get a legitimate gig, so he turned to the illegitimate, petty theft, mugging, that kind of thing. Before long he was in with others like him, they had a nice racket going, until their luck turned sour.

The Emperors nephew had been slumming it with the lessers at a brothel Zells gang had under its protection, he had too much to drink and got violent with one of the girls. Zell, not being one to let such things slide, thought it was just some little merchants son, so he stepped in to put a stop to it. Now, if the bastard had been a nobody, nobody would have cared that Zell gouged out one of his eyes during the ensuing knife fight and left him bleeding in the gutter, but he was not a nobody.

A long story short, Zell quickly found himself without a gang, and with dire need to be far, far away from the capitals influence, coincidentally, the airship flotilla was about to leave for Raina and Zell knew a guy who could get him a ticket without the authorities finding out, the right course of action seemed obvious, what Zell was going to do when he arrived in a new world though? Less obvious.

I will check my spells, stats and equipment a last time today and decide on what spell I use my lineage for :) Too many things to choose from, that could all be fun ^^ Most likely everything stays the same and will I indeed pick charm person for my lineage

Before you do that, think about what metamagic feats make sense with Charm Person. I personally can't think of any, maybe Silent Spell or Still Spell.

Also be aware of the fact that you do not actually have to know the spell yet. One of the most often used candidates is Fireball, as blaster builds depend on piling metamagic onto their otherwise lackluster offense. That or some good Save-or-Loose combined with Persistent Spell.

Oh, and Ceana is also already curious about all the peasants in that faraway land surely eager to get into her nonexistent panties. :)

I think it's going to be like last time for our rolling Drak, the honor system. Yes, cheating will be easy and you could say that you got a perfect roll every time... But that would take the fun out of everything. I think KoD had control of some of the rolls, but we did some of our own too.

Well, there are two very hot women in the room, and still Lucius makes a beeline for the kobold. You know, that causes some serious thought.

On a more serious note, the effort to actively bring the group together rather than wait for the plot to happen is commendable.
 
I have no idea what the accepted term for sentient living things is in universe, I was about to write human behavior when it occurred to me that I'm not even playing a human, and that the term used would probably be completely different.

Or am I just over thinking this?

There's way too many words for that. Hmmm... how about you say people? Though I do not see how it would be so refined as this isn't the future so I doubt many of the terms and words we use are invented yet.
 
True. Man if they gave us dictionaries on the common slang used in the worlds of games I bet they'd soon be used in real life. That's rather frightening.
 
Sorry for the delay in moving things along, yesterday was election day (we are so fucked) and in traditional australian style I was obliged to drink heavily on the preceeding days and, during, and after.

Today is the last day of alcoholic observance, so tomorrow I'll get some stuff done.
