New writer and looking for tips

Nice to meet y'all. Feel free to call me Brandon, but don't ask for too many specifics. I'm a young guy (college) and using my free time to expand my horizons. A friend directed me to this site from another writing site. And I am so glad they did! I am 38 and married to a curmudgeon who married me because I am "the only woman he ever liked". Truly he is a good husband and I love him dearly.

I work in the healthcare industry and find that the stresses of that particular job leave me a bit strung out.
