His father, now deceased, was an Al Qaeda financier.

When he was 10 years old he was taken from Canada and moved to Afghanistan. At the time of his capture in 2002 when he was 15, he was involved in a battle with US soldiers. One of the soldiers was killed during the battle by a grenade.

During the battle, he sustained these wounds to his chest. He was also blinded completely in one eye and partial in the other.

He was taken prisoner and transferred to Bagram. Interrogations began when he regained consciousness one week after the firefight. He was accused of throwing the grenade that killed the US soldier. The US called this murder and a war crime. He confessed to throwing the grenade. One month later he turned 16 and was transferred to Guantanamo and declared an enemy combatant. Among other things, he was sleep deprived, kept in stress positions, kept in solitary confinement for long periods of time, and denied medical care. Threats from interrogators included gang rape, death, and deportation to a non-party country to be tortured more brutally.

In 2010 he plead guilty to murder, attempted murder, and a variety of terrorism related charges under the special military tribunal system that was invented especially for inmates at Guantanamo. The US agreed to release him to Canadian custody in one year's time. He's still in Guantanamo.

I'd like to think that most Canadians and Americans do not want to live a society where torturing disabled minors is acceptable.

Fuck that piece of shit. If you are old enough to draw down and pull a trigger you are old enough to pay the fucking price. 10 years old or 50...you become an enemy of the state and a hostile combatant the second you engage a military force.

But overpopulation and decreasing natural resources have a lot to do with war, and high birth rates that result in disproportionately large populations of young men with no future have a lot to do with terrorist violence.

NO FUCKING SHIT.....so what is the problem with a woman going to get the lil parasite shop vac'ed or chem bombed out? She has to live with it...and honestly I could care less where my pot goes, I sell it to a legal dispensary so it's their problem not mine. My choice, I sleep well at night.

As for the collective stuff...deny it all you want but human reproduction is exponential and earths natural resources are finite...they will collide and mankind will fucking lose. I prefer to recognize the issue and support appropriate action, if you want to stick your head in the sand that's your business.

If the treatment of inmates at Guantanamo is acceptable, why is it illegal to treat criminal suspects and prisoners that way? Why does the Geneva Convention exist? Why is the US a signatory to the UN protocol on the treatment of child soldiers? Why did a special judicial system have to be created for Guantanamo prisoners?
