As far as the contention that someone made that results are better when kids get free breakfast and lunch, that sounds good. I'll bet every working person in the US would feel better about themselves and become more productive and have better long term results if each was given a new GM car every year too.
I'm sure they would...but this isn't about adults is it? It is about children. There are so many studies that have been done it is silly. They all say the same thing...give kids food while in school and they perform better.
If kids perform better...will the country benefit in the long-term from the this small expenditure? What expenditure you ask? It cost 19 cents a day to feed one child in a US school program in 2008. You adjust to today's rates.
