Posting a Character Profile​

To post a Character Profile in "The Real World":

1. Forgive me if I am explaining things that you already know, but there are folk here who have never done this before. Also, for those of you not new, I do this a bit differently than some folk, so please read this anyway.

2. Select the "Reply with Quote" link at the bottom-right of this page. This will open a "Reply to Thread" window that will include this entire page.

3. Go to the top of the Reply window and delete the [ QUOTE=AGuyWhoWrites;37822594 ] crap; then go to the bottom of the window and do the same with the [ /QUOTE ] crap there. (Doing it this way, instead of simply doing a "block and copy" of the form itself preserves the formatting (bold, italics, etc.) and makes the profile form easier to read.

4. If you want at this point, you can select the "Preview Changes" link at the bottom and you will see what the form looks like before you start filling it out.

5. Complete the form. Delete all the superfluous bullshit -- that includes all of these instruction above the line of asterisks as well as all of the instructions in italics found below the questions.


6. "Preview" your form again to ensure it's the way you want it.

7. Submit your form.

8. Have fun.



If you would please take a look at Percy's profile for an example, I would greatly appreciate it. One of the most aggravating things about collaborating with other writers is not being able to quickly and easily review their character's profile, so I have set up Percy's as I would like to see other writer's set up their own profiles.

Charismatic, confident, forward; takes what he wants, and if it's not "available" for him, he finds a way to make it so.

Well educated, although he doesn't flaunt it unless challenged.

Grew up with money, which offered him the opportunity to partake in life experiences.

Percy is known to have had multiple lovers over the years, although he doesn't flaunt it. He has been married, and has had long term relationships, but most of his sexual encounters have been flings or one-night stands.

He is currently in a casual relationship with Miranda, with whom he had sexual and financial interactions -- essentially, he has money, she needs money, and they both like sex.

Percy treasures sexual variety. He looks for opportunities to expand both his own sexual experiences and those of others around him. He has been known to pay to have strangers "sexually serviced" just for the experience of watching or knowing he's "helped someone".

Other things we should know about your Character and about You, the Writer:

My character operates "The Real World" for two reasons: it makes him a ton of money, and it offers almost unlimited variety to people, not just in the area of sexual opportunities, but in dining, sports, gambling, intelligent conversation, even small store shopping (which will be explained in the OOC.)

His ownership in "The Real World" building and businesses is known only to very specific individuals, primary those he is in business with in each of the departments:

1. He is a minor partner (only 25%) of the building itself, but he has a 30 year lease.
2. He is the controlling partner of "Shakers" (the night club); "Aces Full" (the card room); "Rory's" (the sports book"; and "The Vegas Strip" (the strip club). He owns 51% of each, with the remainder divided between the manager and employees.
3. And for the rest, he simply takes a monthly lease fee for the businesses.

The entire top floor of "The Real World" is his City abode. It was once the home of his senior partner, before Percy created "The Real World". There are elegant apartments that he makes available to visiting friends and dignitaries at times.

His true home is a country house outside of town. None of his employees or business associates have ever been there, and he's only occasionally taken women he there who he met via his work at "The Real World". It is his escape, to which he slinks off most Sunday nights, alone, with a turned off cell phone.

I write erotica, not porn, the difference being: "Erotica is a lot of story with a little sex; porn is a lot of sex with a little story.

I write dirty, but I rarely write nasty, which is better explained like this: I don't use "cunt" or "cock" and other Hustler-type words except on very rare occasions; I don't write crap like, "I wanna spurt my cum all over your face, bitch", "swallow that hot cum", and other bull shit phrases like that.

If you don't use spell check and at least pretend to proof read your reply, I probably won't collaborate with you. (I often have grammatical errors because I compose here in Lit', and it can't see that type of error, but I at least proof read and look for errors. You should, too; I have no desire to translate your chicken scratch into English.)

He had money, but he lives frugally with the exception of too much partying.

She, however, is totally dedicated to him, partially because they have a child together, and partially because she believes that one day Rick will finally grow up.

Rick practically lives at "The Real World" due to the generosity of Percy, the Senior Manager, who was friends and business partners with Rick's parents. He has a small room on the secured 7th Floor; and in exchange for free rent, he makes regular appearances at the various divisions of "The Real World", partying in the Night Club, playing cards and darts in the Sports Bar, eating at the restaurant and cafe, and buying and tailoring his clothes at the haberdashery in the building and, of course, making sure everyone he shows his wardrobe off to knows such.

His parents -- wealthy Cuban land owners and silent partners in several American-owned casino resorts -- were closely affiliated with Batista and fled during the early days of the revolution with nearly a million US dollars, the equivalent of $7.5 million dollars today. His parents never talked to him of Cuba, and he was never allowed to bring it up or learn to speak Spanish.

He does not own a car and has never learned to drive; his parents were killed in a car crash the same week he turned 15 and he simply decided never to drive.

He was brought up in luxury, but after his parents died, he learned that most of the money was gone. His only true asset is his parents' million dollar condo, in which his secret girlfriend and their 3 year old daughter, Ava live in; he spends about half of his time there, and the other half either in or near "The Real World" ... or in the bedrooms of other women.

He has a police record, resulting from his hobby as a Minor of collecting leather wallets ... from the pockets of other men. His criminal activity now is limited to petty theft and graft, usually from the women he entertains, their households, and family members.

She takes care of herself. Well groomed. Big brown eyes. Well proportioned, breasts not to big, not too small, they balance her hips very well.

Personality Traits:
Hmmm. More on the innocent side, but learning more all the time since freelancing for Percy. She has some self-esteem issues. Being in The real World validates how pretty, no, beautiful she is. She likes the feeling of knowing men are staring at her. She's no above being a little manipulative, or trying to be. She's out of her league there but doesn't know it. She plays the girl next door very well. She's an actress, or at least that's her plan, so she's a bit of an exhibitionist. She likes to have fun and can be funny and down to earth when she lets her guard down.

She has slept with Percy in the past and he eased her into being a freelancer at The Real World after finding out how much debt she has from college and a proclivity for shopping at expensive stores. Percy teases her about trying other things. I suspect she might like a little bondage and being an actress role playing would be right up her alley. She's in denial about the sorts of things she's doing at The Real World. She would never call herself a prostitute. besides, all Art is prostitution in some way.

She could probably be coaxed into trying somethings. She swallows because the thought of cum all over her face or body seems icky. She's never had anal and thinks it's gross, but then she never had a boyfriend play around back there. She might actually like it if someone wanted to take it slow and teach her.

Personality Traits:
Like the Knight of Cups in tarot, he's a dreamer of sensual delights. A poet, musician, he enjoys working with his hands as well. He might have been a knight back in the day as he has a strong sense of honor and can be very gallant. He can be a man's man or ladies' man depending on the circumstances.

Writer: Jamie is a version of a char in a novel I'm working on. I've written him in other RPs but not on lit. I thought I'd give him a chance here. I'm told I write him rather well. We'll see how he does in this setting, generally he has been in medieval or fantasy situations.

Personality Traits:

Modesto is simply, purely Modesto. He claims to have no last name. He is 30, but he’ll tell you that he’s 28. He is 5’11”, with brown hair and brown eyes. He weighs 140lbs. He teaches Afro-Brazilian jazz dance, and will sometimes break into a Samba dance step while he’s making espresso. He is gay, but flirts with women just for fun. His goal, aside from winning some kind of dance award, is to have sex with as many heterosexual men as time will allow in one 24-hour period.
