Now taking the stage....
"The Wedding"
No crowds, no music,
No doves, no minister
No rings, groomsmen,
No maidens, no maids
No ring bearers, no flowers
No seconds, no hours
No powers to pronounce us
No counseling to discuss
No arguing, no fuss
No guts, no fluff
Just us.
Just us…you and me
Standing alone
With nature as witness
To the love we’ve shown.
The way that we’ve grown
From two souls to one
Through seasons that have
Sometimes left us undone,
Testifimony without the need of a formal vow
That we shall endure.
Beginning right now,
I take you in mornings, noons, and nights
Dusks and dawns,
Afternoons and evenings
And all in between,
To be my one and only, ever.
No matter how rough this road might seem
I’ll kiss you upon waking, and always before slumber
I’ll remind you always that you are a wonder
And I’ll ponder
How I became so honored,
As to have you by my side.
I’ll take you to be, the one I lean on
And the one who can lean on me.
I lay my pride aside, and choose instead
To lay beside you as my wife,
Until our time is said.
I take you, regardless of how you feel about you
I take you, cause I love you,
And no one loves me as you do.
So now with the sun and the breeze, and the leaves
Swirling around us
As our witness,
I pronounce you my bride, me your groom..
Now come and get these kisses.
