As I go about my day

As the flashes fly

What's funny (and not funny ha-ha) is that I can flirt and play around but letting people, people around here who know me in real life, see this part of me is very uncomfortable. But I've been in a funk with my writing elsewhere so again I say thank you. This seems to have vented a few things I guess I needed.

Why things conspired to take you under.

But then I see your strength,
It’s like a sun rise.
This brilliant, pulsing beam
Of life within your eyes.
It’s what draws the cries
And sees through the lies
And rejects anything that tries
To remove your raging fire.

And I see your beauty.
I know it,
It surrounds you.
A beauty so rare
That it shines clear through you.
A beauty that causes those who
Can truly behold you
Still shield their eyes,
Because Beauty
True beauty, robes you.
It clothes you in magnificence
Crowns you in its radiance
Places a banner on you
That proclaims you’re amazing!
It draws me like a moth to a flame
So much so that
That at the mention of your name
I simply melt.

And so I felt you should know,
That I’m not looking at you.
I’m looking in you.
I see you, and I know you.
And I want you.

You probably don’t even know that I exist.
I’ve stayed behind the mist of existing.
Content to move like the fog,
In your midst,
Sliding beside you, then away in the next breath.
My words carried on the back of the wind..
So that each breeze that kisses your soft skin
Carries with it my whispers..
“Hello…my name is…I think you’re beautiful.”
The sun showers my affection down upon you…
Leaving golden speckles of admiration
Like minute embraces
Across your awe inspiring body.
And you probably don’t even know that I exist.
Yet, with a clever twist,
I’ve tried to make myself known
A nice word here, a compliment there
But I’m invisible,
So perhaps you don’t care.
I’ll admit I’m not the most handsome,
And yet I feel it my duty
That someone should be devoted
To expressing awe of your beauty.
So that’s why,
In the wing of the birds that fly along your way,
I’ve hidden hugs to catch you
As you go along your day.
And when you cry, I’ve asked the stars
To twinkle extra bright
So that my heart can comfort yours
When you sob at night.
And when your heart is breaking
I’ve asked the moon
To sprinkle magic dust
All across your room
And as you marvel at this wonder
Know its me who’s there
And its me who cares
For every load you bear.
You probably don’t even know that I exist,
And that’s ok.
