Exclusive: RNC document mocks donors, plays on 'fear'

The Republican National Committee plans to raise money this election cycle through an aggressive campaign capitalizing on “fear” of President Barack Obama and a promise to "save the country from trending toward socialism."

The strategy was detailed in a confidential party fundraising presentation, obtained by POLITICO, which also outlines how “ego-driven” wealthy donors can be tapped with offers of access and “tchochkes.”
[...]

The RNC reacted with alarm to a question about it Wednesday, emailing major donors to warn them of a reporter’s question, and distancing Steele from its contents.

Saving the country from socialism is a worthy goal for those of us unabashed advocates for freedom. Politicians are pussies. Your biggest problem is convincing a majority of Americans that a move towards socialism isn't going on.

Whenever a conservative mentions "freedom", I am reminded that Adolf Hitler and the Nazis came to power by holding immensely popular "freedom burning" rallies.

He Betrayed This Country !!!! He Played On Our Fears !!!

The Patriot Act Violates Civil Rights !!! Vote For Change !!!

liberals , when confronted with something / someone they abhor , resort to extreme smear campaigns such as labeling their adversaries NAZIS, RACISTS , HOMOPHOBES ,ad nauseum / vomiting / diarrhea / hives , etc etc etc

Until the Republicans stop their fear tactics, they should be warned and, if necessary, jailed.

When you label yourself as an "unabashed advocate for freedom," you really should mention that the "freedom" you are advocating doesn't apply to homosexuals.

You know, freedom to marry, freedom to defend their country without having to hide their sexual preferences, freedom to show affection to their partners, etc. etc. etc.

He's not too big on freedom of religion, either.

I never claimed to speak for every state in the union Zip when it comes to Gay marriage. I have my opinion, you have yours...the people have theirs. As far as Don't ask, don't tell is concerned, I have my own experience to draw from, my opinion, as well as the Commandant of The Marine Corps on my side.

Based on that, I find it highly hypocritical of you to claim you are an "unabashed advocate for freedom."

That freedom seems to come with quite a big asterisk.

You're in a real bad state of denial. Or, haven't you heard, there is a large movement going on in the country, comprised of people from all walks of life, Republicans, Democrats, Independents, who have one thing in common ... they HATE what you loonies are doing to the country and are protesting against it.

Maybe you'll understand better come Fall.

Obama campaigned on the notion that he, alone among the presidential candidates, knew how to cure the Washington illness: the polarization and partisan fighting and gridlock and infestation of lobbyists. This is a promise he hasn’t come close to redeeming. He’s barely even tried.

On the economy, Obama let congressional Democrats draft the stimulus package with no input from Republicans (and no across-the-board tax cuts). It has been largely ineffective, nudging the economy a bit upward but leaving the country with 4 million fewer jobs than when Obama took office.

His agenda? Obama has indeed taken up issues on which the public wants solutions. But his proposals on health care, cap and trade, and other issues have actually alienated a majority of America. They’re too liberal, too costly, and too Washington-centered. Too much like Socialism.

Which it isn't, as you know perfectly well.

The Progressive Movement, led by Obama and his backer George Soros, is intent on changing the entire government structure in the United States to that of an all-powerful, dictatorial government that can completely rule the people.

Progressives love the underclass. They can keep firing them up and telling them that capitalism is responsible for their lack of success, and as long as the mindless underclass continue to believe this, the Progressives will have their support.

Socialism on to Communism is now on the horizon.

These people have worked too hard and too long to change America from its rooted democracy to go back now. They will be the ones who take the very place of the demonized capitalists they claim are bilking the people--and the underlings will be forever groveling at their feet for subsistence. Unless you work for them and their corrupt unions, the rest of us will become the permanent underclass.

And then ...

We the PEOPLE rose up and joined protests against them.

Where are YOU in the fight to keep America free?

Looks like the RNC is officially co-opting the teabagger message, and teabagger artwork to boot. Not that this is surprising.

As for the 'is to/is not' back & forth regarding what passes for socialism in this country - when rightwingers start fighting to abolish things like Medicare, the interstate highway system, UT Austin, national parks, and their local libraries, then I'll start respecting the coherence of their message.

Until then, the bagger message translates as: "A government program is not 'socialism' if it benefits me; it's only 'socialism' if it benefits everyone else."

Conservatives are generally so oblivious to the actual threat posed by the political Left in this country that they are willing to cede to Leftists the term “liberal.”

This greatly confuses the political discussion. So-called liberals, now include everyone who calls themselves “progressive”, even well known communist hacks like Angela Davis and anti-American radicals like Tom Hayden and Michael Moore.

So-called liberals embrace the Old and Fellow Traveling Lefts, – a political faction which included active supporters and appeasers of the Soviet bloc during the Cold War and who with their credulous fellow travelers in the Democratic Party – including Teddy Kennedy and John Kerry — mounted a massive nuclear freeze movement, which almost derailed the end of the Cold War. This movement produced international demonstrations, which were almost as big as the demonstrations against the war in Iraq, and were composed of the same people and their descendants.

The term “liberal” under any reasonable definition should be used to describe people who are tolerant and fair-minded and, who believe in free market institutions and individual as opposed to group rights, and who presumably would understand that America is not the root cause of problems in the Arab Muslim world or elsewhere.

There are liberals who would fit this description in the Democratic Party leadership, Joe Lieberman obviously comes to mind, but they are few and far between, and growing weaker by the day. John Kerry is definitely an opportunist but then the anti-American Left is capable of creating political opportunities that John Kerry has been known to seize. When he returned to America, after abandoning and then turning on his comrades in Vietnam, he joined the campaigns of the rabidly anti-American Left and betrayed his country as surely as Jane Fonda did.

Even The New Republic, for years the chief intellectual promoter of Al Gore, has sounded the alarm bell about the dominance of “Wallacites” in the Democratic Party. This term refers to the Democratic Party Leftists who defected to the Progressive Party in the 1948 election with the agenda of defeating Harry Truman and his cold war policy of opposing Stalin’s conquest of Eastern Europe. The analog to the opposition to George Bush’s latter-day reincarnation of the Truman Doctrine is self-evident.

The Progressive Party of Henry Wallace was created and controlled by the Communist Party. Wallace was himself no more a Communist than is John Kerry. He was a Socialist, an opportunist, influenced by the Leftist culture and way over his intellectual head.

Kerry is no different, except his moral character is a lot more defective.

Since the majority of people in this country have neither a sense, nor an appreciation of history, clarification of labels accomplishes little, if anything. I'd bet that a majority of diehard Obama supporters don't know who Truman was, much less associate him as an ardent anti-communist.

Therein lies the problem. Any American with a lick of sense should see right through the facade. Still many adhere to what has been sold to them by the Progessives, as a "Centrist" position.

Progressives have a world-view that doesn't take into consideration the consequences of their actions. They don't look at history as a guide, and as a result don't learn its lessons. They don't realize that the utopia they seek is ridden with many dangers, including loss of freedom, no economic growth, thus no progress leading to a despotism and tyranny no one could imagine in their worst nightmares.

Best thing I've read on the baggers (blog comment):

"The vast majority of teabaggers are fuckin' conservative republicans who just don't like the GOP 'brand' (at the moment). The second the GOP takes power again, you'll see these dumbasses line up to 'self identify' as Republicans, just like circa 2002 when they were last ascendant. They're losers who don't like to be seen losing, so they play being a ragtag outfit, beholden to no one, behind 'enemy lines'. The 'tell' is they're 1000 times more likely to bitch about ObamaCare or Kenya than the bailout. It's like every fuckin' GoOPer I've ever met; bitch all night long about 'corrupt unions' and how they should be destroyed, but never a goddamn word about 'corrupt' CEO's/Crony Capitalism/Buying Lobbyists/Writing Legislation for Bought Congressmen/Bonuses even though they steered their company into the Red/Enron tactics/etc."

:D

Oh wait... you're serious? Oh my.

It is NOW. I didn't say that he created it, but he certainly is the main honcho at the present time. Dancing to the puppet masters call ...

Over the entrance to the Auschwitz concentration camp were the words, "Arbeit macht frei." This can be translated as, "Work makes you free."
