Na No Wri Mo 2007

I'm not giving up but with only 8k words and no let up in my busy life in sight, it's looking like I'm not going to make it to the 50 this year.

Keep on going NaNo'ers -you can do it!

I'm hanging in there, barely. I hope to hit 35,000 today, which only leaves 15,000 for the final 10 days...I know I'll lose a few days due to work obligations and the holidays...I'll be cutting it close, and it may mean a few long nights of writing to make it.

Hey, we're almost neck-and-neck! I'm just over 36,000.
I'm having one of my crises of faith--why do I care about these people, this plot, these themes again? But I'll probably manage to push through.

Good luck to you!

Almost on 34k and going steady - with my novel that is :)

My novel keeps ignoring me when I want to spend quality time with it. I don't want to break up, but I just wish my novel would realize I could easily find another novel. It can't just treat me like this, and expect me to do nothing.

Okay, I've managed to flog myself over the 37,000 line.

If it helps with motivation, I double-dog dare y'all who are feeling behind to beat that, or get 2,500 words in by midnight!

I know roughly how mine will end...I just need to think of something to fill up the middle...LOL...I'm hoping to hit 35,000 tonight...

YaHHHHH go ... You CAN do it, I'm behind, but catchin up. I'll catch up in a few days .... we will finish it... no wimps allowed!

Think about the number of words you have left to write. Then it doesn't seem so bad.

I'm on my last 10, 000 or so. 10,000 is much easier to focus on. I got 3000 from one of my characters last night.

Other places to look now: how about that scene you got bored with and didn't finish? Avoid editing. You need those words. But look back over something you wrote previously. Did you forget an adjective? Do you see your characters doing something, holding something, wearing something (or not) that they didn't have before?

I want to get done before Saturday so I can goof off my last 2 days of vacation.

Back-Up Time!

Another friendly reminder to back up those masterpieces.

And remember, boys and girls, only an off-site backup protects you from fire and theft, as well as hardware meltdown! I email my document to my yahoo account, so if my state slides into the sea, if i manage to swim to shore, my story will be waiting for me.

Wise words to say the least...And here's hoping your state stays firmly glued to the continent for the time being...

51,980 words and im done. unexpectadely, I finished yesterday morning after pushing on through the whole night. I wrote 40 odd thousand words last night.. holy shit my fingers are sore! Lets party !

Congratulations to L8bloom and Ms.read! :rose:

I haven't done squat on the novel but if I add in all the short stories I've written, I'm at 31,700 words for the month so the time has not been wasted.

Thanks, MP. :)

I'm here at work, day before T-Day, trying to get into trouble by horsing around online when I should be writing up "new!" "improved!" spreadsheets for the VIPs.

Eh!! Most of them have the day off, anyway.

EL said she was NaNo-ing for short stories also ... maybe before the year is through, the 3 of us will "show off our shorts"!

I have two going up Friday that I'm pretty happy with. Started out as a romance story but turned into an erotic coupling then I had an idea for a re-write as a horror story that doubled the size of it, so I submitted it as an erotic coupling and the other version as a horror story. I feel like I kinda wimped out by not putting the work in to make it a romance but we'll see what the readers have to say about it. *shrug*

Have a happy writing day!

I wrote two poems. Does that count for NaNo?

*desperate sigh*
jen,

with a behind as pretty as yours, you could write "Mary Had a Little Lamb And She Took It To Chicago, Just to Ride the Ponies" and it would count. Er -- and I don't even want to sleep with women.

I haven't even broke 20k yet

You can do it, you still have 10 days left. Roughly 3000 words a day will do it for you, and that's not a lot to ask of yourself.

I'm hoping to break the 40K barrier tonight. I'm getting close enough to be able to smell the finish line...
