Well, when that policy of mine gets me in trouble in real life, then I'll start seeing things your way. Deal?BlackShanglan said:Do you actually consider it impossible for you both to be wrong? You would, in this example, both be doing the same wrong thing: insinuating ugly things about entire races of people because you happen to be unhappy with one specific person. You would both be wrong.
Call him a moronic fuck who couldn't intellectually out-manuever a dead opossum. You won't get a word of complaint from me; I'll be snickering and getting ready to pull him off if he goes for you. If, however, you decide to drag everyone else of his race into the matter by throwing racial slurs, then you're as wrong as he is, and for exactly the same reason. Your problem is about him; a just response is to him, not him and everyone of his race.
I'd say that your friend is an ass and you'd do well not to emulate him. In fact, I'd say ... pretty much what I've been saying this entire thread. Don't imitate the ugly habits of idiots.
It's never lacked clarity. It's just lacked reason and common decency. I'd hoped that those might be strong enough in you to convince you to exercise your wit in coming up with imaginative and memorable mockery of individuals' personal failings rather than attacking entire races because one person has been an ass.
