You would have been closer to the logical mark by saying "I'll do whatever I please even if no one in real life likes me" - but actually, you'd be wrong there, too. I won't do things that get me utterly alienated from neighbors and coworkers and potential clients, etc.

It's like you telling me there are no "65 mph" zones in America. Some people would then go drive tomorrow morning and ask themselves are they hallucinating when they see a "65 MPH" sign on the highway. I on the other hand know for sure that I will see that sign on the I99 tomorrow.

I don't look like most people's stereotypes of one of the ethnicities that I am. I have thus several times had the experience of having someone insult my race to my face without realizing that he or she had done it.

I never spoke to such people. I have no interest in the doings of racist idiots when they are strangers, and from people I actually knew it was too unhappy and painful a moment to think long on what response I might wish to make. One's mind tends to be much too full with surprise, pain, and loss to have much time for explanations.

But I see that I'm wasting my breath. It alienates me, but evidently you believe me to be insincere in that statement. If you've concluded that I'm a liar, and a liar for no discernable reason to boot, then my words can hold no meaning for you.

I didn't intend it to be taken as a debate. It seems no matter how nasty I am towards the racist trolls, they want to debate.

I do believe, though, that they're getting the point and using ignore. It'll make my Lit experience a lot more drama-free. :)

I seem to recall one person (Shhh) spewing spewing non-stop racial slurs at you in a thread I was participating in and I did say that he was over the line and should stop, when he didn't I stopped interacting with him at all until he did so. *edit* added a link to that particular post :cool:
