Of course. Let's get the color you want, though.

I like to drive fast.

It's probably wasted breath to talk about going through a process of stripping substandard stories off this Web site. I know a writer here who has been desperately trying for over a week now to have some old stories he feels were posted much too underbaked deleted from the site--and guess, what? Surprise, surprise. No response.

Identifying, let alone stripping, stories the author him/herself hasn't requested to have deleted is obviously something lightyears away from the capacities/willingness/interest of the site folks.

Removing a story is a simple task... resubmit the story with word delete added to the story title or as a note in the comments section..... There is no need to PM, e-mail, write, or phone anyone.

Now, TX, you're being smug.

Tsk.

You wouldn't say that if you had any idea of what thoughts that AV gives me...... :p

See?

That's just the sort of comment I needed to hear to make me smile.

"I couldn't possibly know the "various circumstances to which they haven't answered" you."

Why sure you could, Sweetsubsarahh. You could have actually read the thread you were posting to. I laid the various circumstances out in posting #20--and I also mentioned two problems (one mine; one another writer's) in the very post you were responding to so "I'm special" smugly. Actually reading what you are responding to--what a novel idea. It's easier to knee-jerk brown nose, of course--and just to jump to the assumption that I didn't have legitimate issues to discuss with the moderators (or that I was shouting about it simply because I have the audacity to care about how my stories are treated here).

Ah, thanks, TxRad. An actual civil, helpful response. I didn't know that--I'll pass that on to the author who contacted me on that. He seemed desperate. And it was just too amusing to read here the possibility that the moderators would/could pull off (or even identify) substandard stories involuntarily when I'd just heard from an author who was pulling his hair out at not being able to get them to pull a few of his own stories he no longer felt were up to the site standard.

I thought Cloudy's "we could PM Laurel" one-liner was highly amusing, incidentally.

Actually, I said "we could PM Laurel".

As to the other, you were such a jerk to me from the first post I couldn't be arsed to read the thread - what would it matter?

When Lit writers have questions they generally post about them in the Author's Hangout.

Help - how do I delete a story?

A quick search of threads would reveal dozens of helpful such threads.

There is a splendid FAQ that answers most questions, as well.

But you're in a snit - stay there, be happy, whatever.

Bitch about the site, complain and piss and moan. Most helpful.

"Actually, I said 'we could PM Laurel.'"

Apparently you can. And what a thrill that special privilege is, I'm sure. *smile*

"As to the other, you were such a jerk to me from the first post I couldn't be arsed to read the thread - what would it matter?"

Umm, you have a little chronological problem. Your post #107, responding to someone else's #106, questioned my veracity--and I said nothing directly to you before this--none of which had anything to do with you actually reading the thread before making sweeping assumptions and allegations on the thread.

But as you said you revel in smugness and being oh so helpful . . . we'll obviously let you be you.

OK. Are you Scribbled too? Is that one of your alts? That's the only way any of this makes sense.

Post #105 Me - I told TX to report abusive posts

Post #106 Scribbled - laughing about reporting because no one listens to PMs

Post #107 Me - to Scribbled, telling him that my PMs are always answered. I quoted and responded to SCRIBBLED - You are complaining about how much I read but do you actually read the threads yourself???

Post #113 You - complaining about me (but to drkside, your bad)

Post # 115 You - apologizing to drkside, complaining about me

Post # 116 Me - responding to you

If you wish answers, go forth and seek. Post threads in the How to forum, or the Author's Hangout, and ask. ASK for fucking help instead of sitting in a corner and bitching.

#106 Scribbled mentioning me by name as not getting responses

#107 you smugly saying you always get responses. Why post that at all if you weren't doubting my word--unless just to revel in being superior in treatment here?

And, no, Scribbled is not my alt. I only posted at all on the forum--after getting slapped down by one of you smug forum yakkers a year ago for asking a simple question--because someone else was asking a simple, "I'm confused" question on this thread and was, typically, getting slapped down by you smug forum yakkers.

I've been too busy feeding stories into the centerpiece of the Web site.

Since someone mentioned you by name, when I posted a reply to that someone, it was attacking you?

Edited to add:

Since continuing this discussion holds about as much promise as herding cats I refuse to attempt further discourse.

But it has been a true slice.

I just can not figure out why mine are? Usually no grammer/spelling/punctuation errors...

What are people's experience with this?

Uhm, I think you have a lot more grammar, and punctuation problems than you are willing to admit to. My guess is English is not your first language.

You need to try to find a solid editor to help you with your work.

I'm kind of confused here myself. I don't profess to be much of a writer and I don't mean to belittle anyone else's contributions, but I've read (or rather tried to read) some stories on his site with atrocious spelling, grammar and punctuation. How is it that they have been published when it seems that some have been rejected for lengthy paragraphs?

Scribbler, I can not argue with you. I do have two that are riddled with errors. I am rewriting them, but somehow they were published and others with little to no errors were not...I can never seem to figure that one out...and rejected stories keep getting read. That one is really weird too. I have one that has not been published but read 50 or so times.

I am not a good writer, and I do not write in a style that really qualifies as good, I write for fun.

Thank you for your feedback though.
