Beco: The New Avery

Alright. There's no reason this needs to get out of control. Back when I joined, Beco was the first person to erk me here with a "shut up" comment and went on to hijack my thread. People don't forget that kind of shit.
I sucked it up for the most part and let it go back then.

Today I see him blatently plagiarize something. I wasn't rude about it or anything but pointed it out. And here we are.

Nothing to see here...can we please move along?

Shh! Don't horn in on my action! *laughs*

And accuse them of pms'ing, cause that's totally nice.

Well, why not? Menstruation is god's gift to us women. I love it.

But by the way, JinXed was probably the first and only person here who was actually nice to me until I posted my keister off enough to not be considered lame anymore. Whatever that means. But I'll always remember that. And I always imagine Beco giggling a lot, when he's posting.

That's not the way of the General Board, if you haven't noticed ;)

I have noticed, but apparently my observations are void because I haven't been here quite a year yet and I dont' know anything. ;)

Whateer happened to just disliking someone silently?

Well it never "happened", although people have dreamt about such things occasionally.

Shh, don't destroy the illusion that I'm an evil cunt who's only trying to gang up on poor Beco.

If that's all you wish to take away from what I said, FP, by all means, have at it.
But in keeping with your "why's everybody gotta be snarky" remark - why were you all snarky with gypsywitch using her alt limodrivinslut to link her rpg on the GeeBee?

Uh, yeah, that's right - it's different.

He plagiarized, topale noticed it and I picked up the ball since it was ignored and called him on it.
What did Beco plagarize?

I have seen two posts by him in the last little while that made me wonder. One was in the thread Hydrex made about a legitimate question to the black people on the board. I forget what the other one was, it was a few weeks ago and I recall I posted to him about it not being a regular Beco like post. Anyways neither of them were written by Beco, I'm sure of that much.

It amazes me for how long Lit Regulars have decided newbies remain "new". I think it should be measured by post count. Of course, that would make me a newbie too ;)

I'm surprised that you're falling into the belief that I actually care about newbie status. It isn't relevant, until someone says "it's always this way or that way here" and they don't have the background here to really know that if it is or isn't.

It was that one, D.
I linked it in this thread - I find it oh so funny that I'm being mean by calling him out about it, and the assumption is that I only do it because I don't like him. *snorts*

I wasn't thinking of you (or anyone in particular) when I made that statement. I've never given any thought to what you think about newbies or their status. In fact, I can't think of a single poster I could point out who has given newbies problems just for being new. I just think it's lame that people do it.

I think it's cute and funny when newish posters feel like they've got a handle on how this place works and then make threads about it, or make threads about how we all ought to try and be a kinder, gentler GB :D I think it's a sweet notion but I cringe and try to resist the urge to send a private message warning "Run for the hills! They're gonna eat you alive!".

As for Beco, I think I've had him on Ignore since shortly after he began posting here regularly.

Telling a funny, then having to explain it sucks, right?
People putting their heckles up, before understanding whats going on, gives me a chuckle everytime.

Yeah, I figured it was that post. I knew it wasn't something Beco could come up with.

I believe when I called him on that other post his words were " It took me all day to write that!" I didn't care enough to hunt down the origins of the post at the time. Perhaps I should have.

It occasionally happens - like when someone brings something to the table in a discussion (non lit related) and they're shot down simply because they're new. It's silly.

I've been here coming on four years now, I've seen this board go through all the cycles, but even at that I still don't know how it was back in the first few years, nor would I presume to know even though I lurked a year off and on before joining.
The GeeBee has been more playgroundish the past 6 months or so, and this is coming from someone that could outfluff the fluffiest we have here now.
So to hop in and insinuate that I must be pms'ing because I have the nerve to be "snarky" to poor dear Beco (by pointing out that he plagiarized his post) and bringing the GB out of the nice place it usually is, is hilarious. To me at least. Especially when I've seen the type of behaviour from them, towards other litsters that they aren't friendly with, that they accuse me of. heh

It hurts my feelings, Nawtee. *sniffles*

I caught him doing it once before, D, and posted it. He laughed it off then too.

heh - you should really have the  trademarked, Avery.

Want I should ignore that and allow people to think that it's okay to post things - as if they were their own thoughts? I mean, would that be the good thing to do? Should I hold that in silently instead of calling attention to it?

I agree! To thine own self be true, as I believe I was the first to say.

I like the comparison, since Beco and Avery are both nasty pieces of work beneath their moronic exteriors.

If the General Board has a "nice place", I have yet to see it ;)

The one thing about Beco...he stays constant. He's not two faced nor a backstabber.

 for the Bec's

I wonder if Beco's critics realize what a hugely successful and wealthy man he is. I can assure you, he didn't earn that status through stupidity.

I'll stand in line with Beco's buddies any day.

We have now officially entered the twilight zone. *eerie music*
