Is this an OK place for a trans author?

How accepted are transsexual authors at literotica?

  • I am not a trans author and I don't know any (In that case your opinion doesn't count, sorry ;p)

    Votes: 0 0.0%
  • There is a lot of anti-trans sentiment, expect a lot of harassment from the haters.

    Votes: 0 0.0%
  • There is some backlash, but it is manageable (101 questions etc)

    Votes: 4 33.3%
  • There is very little anti-trans sentiment and you should not expect to get harassed at all :)

Hi guys! So, I've loved literotica for a long time now but I've noticed that a lot of the submissions featuring trans people are ... well, pretty hostile towards trans people. Not all of them, and of course I understand that this is a sex story site so of course some level of objectification and fetishization and sexism are all par for the course....

But anyway, I was thinking of submitting a story for this site but I've been a member of other sites where I was open about being trans and gotten harassed about it a lot by other forum members. I'm not really up to receiving verbal abuse every time I post something right now ... so I was wondering, is that something I should expect here? A lot of the submissions aren't the most trans-friendly things out there and some (like this one: http://www.literotica.com/s/how-to-spot-a-shemale) are actively pretty hostile, so it makes me worry.

Well, hopefully the GLBT forum here will be able to answer my question: Is it safe (as in: you won't get harassed) to be an openly transsexual author with stories featuring transsexual characters at this site?

I have not posted on the poll but I did want to comment I have a bunch of friends on this site that are like you and you should perhaps seek them out to talk posting a poll may not get you the answer you need to hear.

you already know this that there are always people who will comment about you no matter who you are so if you not able to ignore the idiots in the world it perhaps is not smart of you to put your thoughts and desires out there to be read by people.

That would be helpful, if you could point me in the direction of people to seek out.

That's very true. But my experience is that it always pays to scope out a place before exposing myself to criticism -- some places are worse, some are better. There's also the matter of choosing my battles. Sexy stories just aren't worth that much of my mental energy IMO and if this is going to be a big drain on me I'd rather just walk away now.

We do have some wonderful trans men and women here. There are some haters amongst the various forums, but mostly what you get are "shemale" fetishists. I dunno if that's the kind of audience you're after?

Anyways, welcome!

:nana::nana::nana::nana::nana::) Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!

I wrote a story awhile back... I'll post a link once I find it. and it featured a person that was searching for someone a little different. Had all the mannerisms and looks of a female, but she has a secret. ;) It was well recieved, and broadened my horizons. You could even say, I made a few friends.

I hope your writing does the same for the audience that your striving for here at lit. :D:D:D I'm sure with your experience you could write something much better than this My Lady

Folks will only judge you on how well you write and since your submission goes into an appropriate section, then the reader knows where to find the subject matter they want
IF your subject matter is what they want. Trans characters with motivations and story arcs that don't revolve around their tits-and-a-dick-in-lingerie? Not especially well recieved here. I know of a publisher that would welcome really good erotica with trans protagonists; forbidden-fiction.com

Fair point - perhaps some care needed with the title/description then... Meh ~ it's really going to depend on content but you're right, much of the content here is predictable chicks with dicks.

yeah, but what about men with pussies. I think we need more of those!

My Ex is a trans guy, but I think he'd die of shock if I suggested he write something for a site like this ;)

Maybe later I will think about writing something from that second-hand experience ... hmm... *off to brainstorm*

Hello and welcome. I'm sure there are some nice stories on here in fact I know there are but names escape me for a moment. In fact the only story I wrote so far and tried to put on was about a geeky guy and tgirl that find each other and just want to be accepted by someone. However put it away cause needed editing and I'm not very good at that part. So yes there is at least an audience of one that would love to read something different for a change on the subject.

I readily admit to having a fetish for m to f transgender folks and I also admit to being largely ignorant of trans people and their experiences. I hope you stay and contribute either with stories or through discussions on the board. Sharing your experiences and thoughts can only help enlighten.

Sure, why not? People write about characters who aren't like them in one way or another all the time. :)

Hello all. I happened upon literotica via the "femboy pics" thread in this forum which had generated a few hits on google analytics for my tumblr site, which piqued my curiosity, so I've been nosing about!

I too am now wondering whether my writing would be appropriate or appreciated here. I've posted pieces at a couple of other sites that specialise more in trans-oriented fiction, as well as on my own blog and generally had a pretty good response.

I guess I will suck it and see like TGirlNerd. It seems like a pretty big and established community here, and also a lot more eclectic and diverse than what I'm used to from the trans sites. So that's all pretty intimidating...

But nothing ventured etc

I am a trans man, and sometimes write stories featuring trans characters. I only made my first submission to Literotica last week, so a lot remains to be seen! If past experiences are any indication, though, I do not expect much harassment. AFAB trans people (even non-binary ones) tend to catch less flak than AMAB people for various reasons. I hope you find a friendly reception, however, and look forward to reading your stories!
